In three games but ultimately only 1 point and 1 goal to show for it.
You lack a player or players to do something special like a "modric".. thought you played well last night but as u say just not good enough to get the goals required ..

The group stages come to a close today.
First up, at 5pm, are the final games in Group E.
Sweden play Poland in St Petersburg and Slovakia play Spain in Seville.
Sweden will win the group if they beat Poland. They will also win the group if they draw and Slovakia draw with Spain. If they draw and Spain win, it will come down to goal difference and maybe goals scored with Spain likely to finish above them in that case. They will finish second if they draw and either Slovakia or Spain win. They could also finish third but have enough points to secure one of the best third place slots.
Slovakia will win the group if they beat Spain and Sweden don't beat Poland. They will probably be eliminated if they lose to Spain and definitely will be if Poland also beat Sweden. Most other results would see them finish second.
Spain will win the group if they win and if Poland beat Sweden, or if they win, Sweden draw and they have a better goal difference or goals scored. Spain will go through if they win or draw.
Poland can't top the group, because they lost to Slovakia. They will finish second if they beat Sweden. Any other result will see them eliminated.
Lots of permutations in this group.

Sweden take an early lead against Poland through Forsberg.
They only need to win to top the group.
Wed Jun 23, 2021 4:11 pm
Morata misses a penalty for Spain
Wed Jun 23, 2021 4:31 pm
Spain take the lead against Slovakia, an own goal by Dubravka - who punched the ball into his own net.
As things stand, Spain would be in second.
Wed Jun 23, 2021 4:48 pm
Laporte gives Spain a 2-0 lead and they look to be heading through
Wed Jun 23, 2021 5:27 pm
Sarabia added a third for Spain. Torres then scored a fourth for them. They're going through and Slovakia are going home.
Forsberg gave Sweden a 2-0 lead but Lewandowski had scored to make it 2-1.
Poland have to win to go through, while Sweden have to win to win the group.
Wed Jun 23, 2021 6:08 pm
Spain beat Slovakia 5-0 in the end. They finish second in the group and will play Croatia next in Copenhagen on Monday at 5pm.
Sweden beat Poland 3-2, they win the group and will play a third placed team.
Slovakia finish in third but are almost certainly joining Poland in being eliminated - unless France beat Portugal by six goals.
Next up are the final group games as Group F comes to a close.
Germany play Hungary in Munich and France play Portugal in Budapest.
France are already through and will win the group if they win or if they avoid defeat and Germany fail to win. They will finish second if they lose or if they draw and Germany win. They will finish third if they lose and Germany win or if they lose and Hungary win and there is a four goal swing in goal difference.
Portugal will go through with a draw, but they will almost certainly go through if Hungary don't beat Germany. They will win the group if they win and Germany don't. They will finish second if they win and Germany win or if they draw and Hungary win. They will finish third if Germany better their result. They will finish fourth and be eliminated if they lose and Hungary win.
Germany will top the group if they win and France don't. They will finish second if they match (draw or win) Portugal's result. They will finish third if they lose and Portugal lose. They will finish fourth if they lose and Portugal win.
Hungary can finish second if they win and France win. They will finish third if they win and Portugal avoid defeat. If they don't win, they are eliminated.
Whoever finishes in third place are extremely likely to go through.
Games kick off at 8pm to conclude the group stage.

France now level. Benzema with a penalty of his own.
That one was never a penalty - shocking decision by Lahoz.

One of the worst decisions I've seen for the France penalty. Can't believe VAR didn't intervene.
Right decision for Portugal penalty I think.

France in front 2-1.
Benzema again, flagged offside at the time but VAR gives it as a goal.

Finding it difficult to come to terms with not being there. Sat in my shirt, my bucket hat and having a drink. Wish I was there. Would have been the biggest game since Lille in my opinion.

Agree.
Just hope the team can put in a good performance. Ironically, we always seem to play better when the crowd is against us.
