Both teams drew 3-3 after 90 minutes in their respective Last 16 matches, and had to play extra time.

Switzerland's score stayed the same after the additional half an hour and they beat France 5-4 on penalties.

Spain scored a couple of goals in extra time to beat Croatia 5-3.
