Mick McCarthy the early 9/4 favourite.

OMG....hope we don't get him. Not a great recent record. He's not the way forward for our club surely!! We need a more modern and progressive manager. You can tell from his punditry that he's a no nonsense, up and at 'em type manager. Everything based on discipline, workrate, crunching tackles and the like. We need a bit more than that.

Mark Bowen looking likely at the moment and maybe him and Andy Legg perfect to keep us up this season and take it from there :bluescarf: :bluebird: :bluebird:

MARK BOWEN

Worked in premier league for 17 years and well over 500 games there as a coach.
Only a short time working in the championship with first Birmingham and then last year Reading FC BUT got promotion with Birmingham and took Reading from 23rd when arrived to 14th !
Win percentage working in the championship is 45% !

Virtually all the time Mark Bowen has worked as a number two to someone else usually Mark Hughes has hardly had any experience as a manager on his own. The last time we tried two ex players together it was the disasterous Danny Gabbidon Scott Young combination. Would prefer even Mick McCarthy to him and I don't want Mick McCarthy.

spent 18 years in Premier ..... coached more games that all but Alex Ferguson, Wenger, Redknapp and Moyes ! 538 games !
Been twice in championship
Birmingham city first team coach with Steve Bruce - went there when they were 14th and got promoted that year .... and
Last year with Reading FC - went there when they were 23rd and finished 14 th and that was without our best striker Lucas João (this years top scorer !) for the whole season !

McCarthy was manager of APOEL in Cyprus earlier in season ! Biggest club in Cyprus with most wxpensive squad - was sacked after losing FIVE of his first 8 games !
APOEL usually lose 5 games a season !!

It’s a definite ‘no thanks’ to Bowen. That would be a very similar appointment to Harris. There’s no basis for that decision.

There are many that I’d take before either of the names mentioned, but I’d go for McCarthy way ahead of Bowen.

Mick McCarthys Ireland played a 4-2-3-1 which would suit current personnel?

I'd like to see us give Osion Roberts a go. He was supposedly the brains behind Wales' success in EURO 2016.

Go and get Bellers ffs. He’s everything we’re crying out for. Perfect timing for an untested manager...we’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain from giving him until the end of the season.

For all those saying he wouldn’t work for Tan, this could be Bellamy's best and maybe only chance. He would HAVE to consider it if it was offered. He’d be a fool not to.

It’s a great match atm

Whats the obsession with Bowen? Started well at Reading, from January onwards they won 6, lost 10 and drew 6. Thats 24 points out of the last available 66. Around the same period, Harris took over from Warnock and took us from lower middle table to the Play Offs.

Judging from what the Reading fans say, they lacked identity and we're overly defensive.

Andy Leggs record isn't great either. Took Llanelli from a title challenging team to relegation, and sacked from Bangor after 3 months. Granted Llanelli had financial issues, but that is a tragic decline.

As much as I'd love to see a Welsh/Cardiff management team, I'd prefer competency. Eddie Howe would be the ideal, but no doubt out of our price range. Some youthful managers proving themselves are Ainsworth, Darren Moore and Bowyer, even Jones at Luton, although he struggled at Stoke.

You also have Pearson as a short term option.

I'd love Bowen to prove me wrong, but he screams Trollope 2.0.

All I ask for is to get someone to change our philosophy and try to start playing attractive football, as long as effort is there and they give it their all then I'm happy, under harris for a while the players didn't look bothered and that is not acceptable

Just to add a little bit of further context here. This season we have picked up 5 more points than Reading did between January - season end, and we've played two games less.

I was delighted to hear Harris had been sacked then immediately worried knowing that team of goons would be choosing the next manager.

I won't be getting my hopes up, it seems Tan's spineless cronies can advise all they want he won't listen.

For me only one name gets me excited and that's Bellamy. Yes unproven and a risk but I think he could transform this football club.

Judging by social media Bellamy seems the popular choice, will Tan listen to the fans for once? Highly unlikely.

Looks like our club, Dalman, Choo and Tan will f**k this up again. Mick McCarthy ffs. Go and get Bellamy and get the passion, drive and play football the fans want. Not Pulis, Hughes or any of these failed managers. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :| :|
