Boston win and now lead the first to 4 series 3-2 - with all remaining games now back at Boston. Huge favourites from here.

This could be the most satisfying email I have ever sent

Re: Joined an online bookies - my record

$500 on James McGee to beat Kimmer Koppejans. Another underdog @ 2.08

Kimmer hasmplayed most of his matched indoors, this tournament is outdoors so may struggle with the wind as he has a high ball toss and upon checking the weather is a little blustery. Both are roughlt the same which is why I have to go with McGee.

Re: Joined an online bookies - my record

Tue Oct 29, 2013 4:06 am

Coppejans struggling on his serve as hoped. Broken twice already. The longer the match goes on for the more the wind will die down by the looks of the radar so he needs to get this done quickly.

Re: Joined an online bookies - my record

Tue Oct 29, 2013 4:13 am

McGee breaks again and takes the set 6-3.

Coppejans first serve percentage is at less than 50%, usually in the high 70% so clearly having an effect.

Re: Joined an online bookies - my record

McGee wins 6-3 6-3 and takes my 8 week profit total to $21,000 rising to $26,000 if Boston win 1 more game. A very nice haul.

Another case of poor bookmaking today though.

This is probably going to be my last bet of the year (unless something stands out again) so im going to offer some advice. We are all here for the same reason and have this common interest, so please dont think im being patronising with this post. Im genuinely trying to help. I hate bookmakers and have seen many people badly affected as a result of them - i love beating them for that reason so will help you guys to do that on this thread where possible as I know 99.9% of people do not make profit from them so am in a privileged position which i definitely do not take for granted.

Its always nice to have a tip and i get asked often for a tip, however the greatest tip I can ever give you is learn your trade. Get yourself and edge and become the proverbial casino owner rather than the punter then its not if you win, its just a matter of how much - its a statistical inevitability. Which is why I find myself banned from nearly every bookmaker created.

A lot of these odds compilers have general rather than specific knowledge, not to any expert depth anyway. Many have only had 4/5 years experience and some even less so as junior odds compilers, although im not sure how much say they have in the final odds creation. However, once you know more than your average odds complier the job is 80% done. Look for things a bookie wouldn't normally look for or may not even consider... How a player fares against left handers, tall players, short players, if they prefer to play in the morning or evenings, how used to that surface they are, when a player chances from a lot of grass tennis to hard the transition isnt always instant, how a player plays in the wind, cold, heat and how those conditions may affect that players mechanics (today prime example) even down to players biorhythms. There are an infinite amount of avenues to go down.

I tried explaining it as simply as I could in another thread but it was lost amongst the rubbish that my posts generally attract but i will quote myself again...

RoathMagic wrote:
Betting is basically maths. You need a great knowledge of a certain sport to the point where you can price it up more accurately than the bookie. Then you go through the list of matches and anything you have at lower odds than the bookie is offering then bet on it, the more value you take the more you will win.

Its like a coin flip (although not a perfect example as we are relating them to humans) but if a bookmaker was offering you odds of 11/10 on heads and 9/10 on tails then you choose heads every time even if you think it will land on tails as you know it should be evens for both hence taking the value.

If you stick £10 on every time... You will lose 100 times and win 100 times (as we know its a 50:50 shot) yet because you took the value you would be up £100. Because you lose £10 for being incorrect and get £11 for being correct.

And thats basically what I do.

I know this post is quite long winded and many may not even read it but I do it out if a genuine want to help. A lot of you already know tour onions so this is a more "talking to the room" rather than specific individuals.

Anyway im probably going to give the ATP finals a miss as im super busy from not til Xmas, probably wont even be posting on here much either (dont tell the others they may let their guard dont and start talking rubbish again)

But im out of here. Stay safe and keep winning :malky:

Liang Wenbo and Andujar winning me a fair amount today :D, Pospisil is such an up and down player.

Roathie, how do you fancy Andersons chances against Youzhny? sort of looking at that one but Youzhnys in some form so a bit hesitant. 6/4 on anderson though.

I wouldnt touch that one mate. Both far too inconsistent. Youzhny by far the better player but Andersons serve is a beast, if his serve isnt working though he will get crushed.

good point. may look at it for a small amount depends what happens in between.

Also, when you used bet365 did you ever get this happen..... bet on wenbo +4.5 handicap against ronnie o sullivan. wenbo currently 5-4 up so bet settled ages ago, but they still havent paid it out yet ! frustatring as its a good few hundred.

They tend to settle all markets relating to one match at its end, so although its over for your bet they will settle when the match is over.

Looking at the fixtures the only one Id have done is Gasquet. But thats already started 3-3 in first set.

Lucas Pouille to win second set comes in. He had a good run last week so thought it would be worth a flutter. backed him to win the match overall too so heres hoping.

I like verdasco, couldnt have backed him in this one though.

Also, asked about the settling bets thing as sky bet settle handicap bets when complete rather than at the end of the event. First time doing a bet like that on 365.... so wasnt sure what was going on lol

Boston win world series.

$26,768 (£15,860) profit in 7 weeks after counting it up. :malky:

Good luck between now and Jan folks.

Got to make it past $27,000 so last one.

$500 on James McGee @ 2-1 against Sugita. Tough game for McGee but not sure what the odds are doing, i make him slight fave.

any thoughts on anything else today? (since you still have to make it past your target and im looking for a piggy back  )

Konta v Moore in an all British affair, dont get to see much of moore but i do like her, better than her ranking suggests i think but then i suppose you could make that argument for anyone outside of the top 100.

Moore is 2/1. I also fancy Riske to take out her game in straight sets.

not much value in the paris comp for me. Wawrinka - almagro should be a good one as i think almagro can just about make the ATP finals still, so will be going all out for it. berdych at 11/10 is a tempting one as well.

all in my opinon of course lol

I like Wawrinka, Ding and Nadal. Ive gone for a treble which nets $1250.

Havent looked at wta coz again they dont seem to have it with this bookie which is a shame. Berdych is tempting at 11/10 you are right however there is something that doesnt sit quite right with me. I dont think Berdych has a good record against big servers on hard.

2 wins and 3 losses against Karlovic,
0 wins and 2 losses against Raonic and
1 win and 2 losses against Isner.

So i guess its up to you as berdych can beat anyone on his day. Probably a slither of value there but wont be suprised to see him get beat.

how much you have to put on to get that? as they are all quite low odds lol

$500 again $750 profit, think all three are nice bets. Takes me to like $27,020

Wawrinka an early break down (am on the same treble as you as well as another one) got him in both.

Early days yet though.

All level 3-3. Wawrinkas back hand is devastating :laughing6:

Re: Joined an online bookies - my record

Wish id put more than 100 on it now lol. Rafas a solid enough final bet to be waiting on for an accy. Having said that he'll probably go and lose now

I went quite big on berdych in the end. Just thought it was too good to leave alone. Both guys winning well over 80% on thier first serves, impressive indeed. But bet looking ok so far
