1- how does insurance work?
2- if the dealer as 21 over 3 cards does than beat a player with 21 just off 2 cards?
3- what happens if both dealer and player has 21 off 2 cards?
4- how does split work?

1. Insurance is offered to the player if the dealer pulls an ace on his first card. Insurance is a side bet which basically means that if the dealer pulls blackjack (which is very likely) your insurance stake is payed out 2:1 odds. This means you have the opportunity of breaking even or winning a small ammount. If the dealer does not pull blackjack then you lose your insurance side bet.

2. No 21 is 21 regardless of how many cards it takes to make 21. Blackjack (An ace + 10/picture card) beats a 21. There is a hand called a 'Five Card Trick' but this is only used in Las Vegas casinos & some online casinos.

3. It is a tie and you keep your stake. Basically you have won nothing but lost nothing.

4. Split is if you pull two of the same cards (eg two Jacks or Two Tens). These cards do not need to be the same suit. If you split the cards it means you are playing with two boxes as opposed to one. The pros of splitting is that you can double your money quickly. The cons are that if you lose you have given the casino your money.

My three tips for playing blackjack are:

- Buy a book and learn about the game, odds and strategys. It is the best way to get to know the game.
- Only play on a sociable table. Its shit if you are playing with a bunch of grumpy fucks who arnt interested in having a chat and get pissy when things arnt going the tables way
- If after two cuts (reshuffles) you are still down - walk away. It is more than likely not your night.
