When you think it cant get any worse then Mark Hughes enters the race

Cant say I fancy any of the names mentioned here this week. I'd guess it's someone whose name hasn't been posted here

Think mark would do a decent job for us

Not Mark Hughs. Noooooooooo. Another manager on the merry go round. Ffs get a young hungry manager who plays football. Getting f.......cked off now with this. Get Bellamy ffs.

Hughes and Bellamy together, with a plan for Bellamy to take over long term. I also think mark will do a good job for us

A clear top three in the betting now...
Mark Hughes is Dalmans choice as he loved anything to do with Man United, that’s how we ended up with Ole.
He wants to be guaranteed big spending money.
I was told deal done with Harris.

And there's some who think Dave Jones had a sour puss
Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:30 pm
He never attacked the russians when manager of wales, so why pick this guy when the top brass are looking for an attacking manager. Confused.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:31 pm
While he certainly wouldn't be my first choice Mark Hughes has to be a step up from Harris. I would much prefer to see someone like Karl Robinson given a chance at a higher level but it seems we aren't going down that route. Shame as his teams are always entertaining to watch and he gives youngsters a chance too.

Not quite sure what to make of this. I would have thought he would have been out of our price range.
Personally I would prefer someone on the way up such as Bowyer or a manager with previous for attaining promotion from the Championship such as Hughton.
There again I would prefer almost anyone over Neil Harris

This is my problem with Hughes, we had to go for it so it wouldn't have made a difference if we lost by 5 or 6

Oh God agreed, it will be Coleman and Giggs next

I think hughes would be a great replacement
For Glatzel
Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:02 pm
Anyone remember the speculation surrounding Jimmy Andrews replacement?
Mr X was the favourite but Ritchie Morgan got the nod and was my favourite ever City manager.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:04 pm
I'd go for Giggs

I can't see it myself. Mark Hughes would want to bring in Mark Bowen for a start, like he has before. Not only that, but I dont think he did to well in the transfer market while at QPR, something Vincent Tan would be all too aware of from Tony Fernandez surely?

Hughes done well at Blackburn, stoke ,fulham ,mixed results at qpr and kept Southampton up ,i think he would do well for us

Would rather Hughes than Harris, but in honesty can't see it happening,if it does, maybe ask Earnie to come as his assistant (knows the club well, legend and would be great at showing strikers what is needed to hit the net,I'm sure even at what 38? He could have done better with some of the sitters we've missed

Agree with this.
Hughes would certainly be a step up from Harris or even Bowyer. He wouldn't be my first choice but I'm guessing that firstly he wouldn't come cheap and secondly he wouldn't take us on without some sort of guarantee of transfer funds so that would be encouraging.
He's certainly not in the OGS class of disaster and would at least attract some name players which we seemed to struggle with under Warnock.
Hughes teams were organised but he wasn't averse to signing, and picking !!, players with flair.

Mark Bowen has just taken over at Reading and is doing a really good job there so would be surprise if he left so soon to be a number two to Hughes again...
Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:03 pm
Might be good choice for our strikers
Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:10 pm
Reported that no decision before wkend as other candidates besides harris! Do males me think late runner for post? Dont want Hughes starts well and then teams drop after 2 seasons bit like NW.....also he's defensive minded as wales found out when it mattered most in several important games...
Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:22 pm
Don't know what they are thinking - stop messing about and get Lee Bowyer in!!
Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:25 pm
Might as well interview Big Sam if we going down the Hughes line of interviewing.
Better track record than anyone we seem to be looking at.

Betting no longer suspended on Harris.
Mark Hughes - 11/10
Neil Harris - 11/8
Of the two, I'd prefer Hughes.
