Gareth Bale to Cardiff odds slashed again
Monday 7th June 2021
The odds on Gareth Bale making a sensational, albeit highly unlikely, return to his hometown club this summer continue to tumble.
Cardiff are now, somewhat incredibly, only 6/1 to sign the Wales talisman this summer.
One of the many scenarios touted surrounding Bale's future rests upon him negotiating an exit deal from Real Madrid this summer. It has been reported that he will leave and ask for half of his £13m salary as a pay-out.
However, whether the tables have turned following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, a manager who clearly admires him and has hinted he has a future there next season.
Should he leave, though, then his next destination is clearly a bubbling topic of discussion.
Tottenham, the club at which he made his name and spent last season on loan, have remained at the top of the bookmaker's odds list, with the price now at 11/4.
Next on the odds list is any MLS club. The Welshman has spoken of his desire to potentially play Stateside one day and the bookies have him to head to the US at 5/1.
However, third in line are the Bluebirds. Cardiff are now just 6/1 and have been installed as third favourites by bookies, if we are lumping the MLS clubs into one. Considering that on May 26 they were joint-10th favourites at 16/1, that is quite the jump.
It's still something of a romantic hope at the minute, though, it must be said. But, hey, weirder things have happened.
Gareth Bale next club odds:
Tottenham 11/4
Any MLS club 5/1
Cardiff City 6/1
Barcelona 8/1
Chelsea 8/1
Any Chinese Super League club 10/1
Arsenal 10/1
Juventus 10/1
Manchester United 12/1
Inter Milan 16/1
Manchester City 16/1

Surprised this as not been picked up on sports news outlets? Bookies must be loving people betting on something that is improbable..

take the money out of the equation and how improbable is it then...if he wants to continue earning silly money he probably can by continuing his travels ... but if its life over money he should be in a better financial situation than any British footballer has ever been to just do what he wants... if that happens to be coming home settling his young family and living in the house he has built its far more probable

If old GB is willing to accept a package of £15kpw and Twenty Ten Membership @ the Celtic Manor then a tenner bet @ 6/1 might be a shrewd bet

I agree about the money aspect
I dont think it comes into the equation for reasons you've stated... improbable is more to do
with his age and can still do a job for a big club.. personally I wouldn't be surprised he came here if you put all things thats been said together ...just think its improbable at this time as lot to offer still

Bellamy came the season after he was one of Man City’s best players. Stranger things have happened.
I don’t think it will and it’s probably not even 2% but you never know.

Love this to happen and definitely think life over money is likely to be in his thinking.
I'd imagine if this was the case a villa, soton even spurs would look at offering him a deal that would allow him to live in Cardiff and allow him to carry out his own training program in Cardiff a few days a week

honestly do not see moving to any of those 3 anything other than money... its just another year in the prem playing for clubs who are likely to win zero..... having won a bag full of champions leagues already...
