Betting-wise, I guess events from yesterday have made the difference...

Some are saying Mike Flynn was a 'shoe-in' had we lost and that perception could be strengthened by his apparent 'invite' to the game

That still goes against what a few of us have been told but nothing is as clear-cut as we would like to believe

What is somewhat odd is that if Mike Flynn has/had been 'lined up' for 'some weeks' since he left Newpot for whatever reason, then the (so called) 'Committee' surely cannot have been so convinced he is/was the 'right man' not to have installed him as soon as Mick McCarthy went?

Seems the Bluebird supporters are not 'convinced' either... ;)

As usual, it's all very odd down at the CCS but hopefully this week will see what occurs

But whatever the outcome, it does make it somewhat entertaining on here... :ayatollah:

Steve Morison is now the bookies' favourite to take over at Cardiff City, despite Michael Flynn taking in Saturday's win over Huddersfield Town.

Morison is now 6/4 favourite to take the reins in the Welsh capital, having overseen his first win as interim boss at the weekend.

I feel that the board should show some faith and give Steve Morrison the job for the remainder of the season.

If that means we go down, then we probably would have gone down anyway. tbh whoever the manager is will need to freshen up the squad in January, either by recalls or new blood.

Some right beauts in those odds, 3/4 of them would not even come shopping to Cardiff never mind manage them. I hope Morison gets it and have no interest in the others mentioned. :ayatollah:

I'd only have him back if we found ourselves in dire trouble in March/April. I think we are good enough to avoid that situation anyway.

Agreed, no doubt Warnock would keep us up and get results but it would be another wasted 7 months.

We need new ideas and a new direction, we need to be brave and give any new, young guy a bit of leeway to change our style and the culture on the playing side.

Robot Page now being talked about as a 'strong' candidate

Why would he leave a Wales team on tbe verge of World Cup qualification, though? :?:

Crossed my mind, Ned; but I still see him not abandoning the job at this stage. He is a proud Welshman and his reputatiin would be further enhanced by any Wales success

Next week will be his 2 final games as Wales caretaker manager. It will then be decided before the next international break if Giggs will continue, if they will stick with Page or choose to go into a different direction.

My guess is that this will be Page's last 2 games as Wales manager whatever happens.

Robert Page was on Tan's shortlist 5 years ago to replace Russell Slade.

Page has also worked with several Cardiff players in the Wales set up and has a good relationship with them.

Also nothing currently seems to be imminent at the moment which implies that cardiff might be waiting for something (the Wales matches to be concluded)

This could also explain why there has been so little information about manager updates this time around as they are not wanting to disrupt Wales's big game preparation this week.

I'm not a particular 'fan' of international football but if what you write above (and I don't doubt) is correct, it makes some sense on the delay to date in naming...

Hoping there's something in the Beale movement in odds.. Just think he's potentially more long term and finally a plan can be put in place.

Re: MORISON ODDS ON (Weds, 8pm) " CARDIFF CITY MANAGER ODDS

Postby JJBlueDraggon » Thu Nov 11, 2021 12:24 am

I just looked at the Sackrace website and something weird I noticed.

Yes Steve Morison is their favorite, but yesterday Rob Page was 20/1 odds on there. I just checked now and Rob Page is not even on the list anymore to bet on, unless my eyes are deceiving me. Haha

He's still on the sky bet website to bet on though at 20/1
