WHO'S INTERESTED IN NEW FORUM FOOTY COMPETITION?

*Fed up of all the fantasy football myself now (even though I'm in both prem/champ comps)

So was thinking of setting up a new competition for forum members in a league style basis.

Basically you select 5 teams to win from any of the WEEKEND (only) fixtures from either the English league system (Prem, Champ, L1, L2) or the Scottish Premier League.

You can bet as many points as you want from 1pt or 5pt (5 being the Maximum!) on the Starting price of that team.

eg. If Wigan are say 9/4 to win and you bet 3pts on a win you will receive in return 6.75pts back as well as your 3pt stake. (9.75)

each of the 5 teams you chose need to have an order of betting - so you can not gamble 5pt win on more than one team, your next best bet (nb) needs to be 4pt or less, then your next selection with less chance no more than 3pt win...etc etc...
Doing it this way means you will need to be wise on the teams you chose with the 1pt and 2pt wins and you will be looking for better odds/value to increase your chance of gaining more points.

To some it may sound complicated at first, but it's very easy to get the hang of once its going.

I was looking to start this competition THIS WEEKEND (Friday 24th August - all weekend fixtures for this competition will start on a friday)

The good thing about this competition is eventually there will be people/players that will be constantly good at picking out results that will show in the table and then any forum members playing or not playing could use these selections to make their own weekend accumulators! So in other words, the more of us that think we can pick out 5 winning teams on here (experience or luck!) can help others win money with 5 fold acca's etc etc..

If anyone feels that any other rules need to be added let me know - as I have seen this type of competition really kick off on the Horse betting forums etc .... they have good fun and usually people following do tend to make a few quid each weekend relying on tips from people that play.

I'll be responsible for collecting everyone's selections via PM - then updating them to the game thread, The only downside to this is that we can't really have a huge ammount of members playing, so ideally no more than 15-20 people really.

anyway, I'll leave it at that for now, but please state if you want to play - to see if we can pick out a Top Tipping Footy Acca selector! from our new league!

Deadlines will be 30 mins before any Friday KO if you're selecting a Friday fixture. All other selections must be in by midday Saturday for the weekend....

Any particular set odds/bookies we'll be using?
