“Experience is what is needed to get us out of this”

Postby Forever Blue » Sun Nov 28, 2021 4:00 pm

MY VIEW:
I 100% with Steve Morison on this, the CCFC Committee rushed 10 players straight from the U23 squad straight in to the first team squad and half were def not Championship quality , most of us were honest enough to see it and say it at the time. Hopefully eventually a few become quality Championship players.

Our football is do so much better under Steve Morison :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

For me Rubin Colwill Def is already :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City manager Steve Morison:

"I thought we were excellent, I thought we dominated in all areas, with and without the ball.”

“When you need to lift things and get the important results, you need to look to experience, experience players are needed to get us out of the trouble we are in.”

"Conditions were terrible, it was really tough, but we fought for each other and the fans and it was a well deserved victory.

"It's only the media who want to focus on the stat about the first half goals, I couldn't care less when we score as long as we win games of football.

"We have won three in four and we look for the positives and how we can get better going forward."

“Let’s all be positive and believe, this club will stay up as long as we all stick together.”

Experience is the safe option, always will be.

But at some point a club has to take a risk, especially when there appears to be an unusually large group of U23s that could make it.

I have said right from the start of this season that I thought the squad was good enough for top 10 even without some of the youngsters and I’ve seen nothing to dissuade me from that view.

So maybe until we have moved up the table Morison will have to play it safe but if we get to mid table by Jan/Feb then I fully expect us to try out these youngsters so we can really see who is going to make it.

That will probably mean that we will have to be patient with results once we have a degree of safety, otherwise it will never be the “right time” to test these youngsters.

So far I think Colwill and McGuinness are already some of our key players, Isaak Davies looks close and Kieron Evans not far behind.

The players that still need to prove themselves are Bagen, Bowen, Patton, Zimba and Harris. That’s a hell of a group if only half of those make it.

Long may it continue.
