The draw for EURO 2024 took place today.

The were drawn into six groups of four (one team from each pot). The top two in each group will qualify for the Last 16, as well as the four best third placed teams.

The tournament in Germany begins in June.

Obviously anything from pot 1 would be tough ( please not England again ! ) . Nothing too scary in pot 2 but no one will want Holland from pot 3 .

My ideal , Belgium , Albania and Slovenia , worse case , France , Denmark and Holland

All irrelevant if we don’t win the 2 games in March .

If we do qualify also want to avoid England and the jocks as you’ll never get flights / hotels etc .

These play offs are a bit mad. Lazy journalism says we’re in the play offs because of our performance in the nations league. It’s sort of correct but we finished bottom with 1 point. It’s more a product of us being in the top group of the nations league from the tournament before ! Which is so far back it could be under giggs I think !

I could be wrong on the latter , but my point being , we’re in the play offs because of success a good number of years ago . Not complaining as that’s the structure and I’d take the nations league over meaningless friendly games any day of the week .
