I can't get excited about the draw as much as I used to. Successive city managers have put out virtually reserve teams and we've been done by lower league opposition too many times. Northampton, Shrewsbury, Macclesfield, MK Dons, Gillingham and Burton in the last decade have all beaten us in the cups. We get a draw that should mean we progress, buy our tickets and watch the reserves get done. I don't care who we draw, I wont be going. There used to be nothing like 3rd round day and the possibility of a cup run was exciting, but the FA cup has lost it's appeal for managers and owners, pity.

One of those '
ah well' fixtures not likely to overwhelm supporters...
As someone says above, our managers (nee club) haven't taken the cups seriously; at least not since Malky took us to Wembley and it felt like our second home under DJ...!
But on a brighter note, if Erol Bulut takes it seriously, a great chance to progress and (hopefully) go on a cup run or at least bring an exciting game back to the CCS. Our support would love that...!

Unexciting draw.
Although Shrewsbury v Wrexham would be a kind of local derby

Poor draw but despite the FA Cup final being our greatest ever success as a club even though it was 1927, and finalists losing to Portsmouth our Managers never seem to take it seriously as above despite both Cups being winnable with favourable draws!

My thoughts exactly, hopefully SW will be concentrating on avoiding relegation and may field a weakened side. Realistically we are unlikely to be involved in a promotion battle (I think next year is more likely) though you never know what the January transfer window might bring. A cup run may give us fans something to enjoy this year.

Wrexham won today so will play Shrewsbury away next.
Think it’s their biggest rivalry now that Chester have fallen down the leagues.
Would expect it to be on TV, probably on S4C at least.

Arsenal v Liverpool - the pick from that draw .

Sunderland v Newcastle looks good as well.
They’ll probably throw in a boring all PL game like always but the five TV games should be:
Arsenal v Liverpool (two big teams)
Gillingham v Sheffield United (PL away at L2)
Shrewsbury v Wrexham (local derby)
Sunderland v Newcastle (local derby)
Wigan v Man Utd (PL away at L1)

Strongest 11 would be nice. A winnable game and hopefully something more exciting in the next round.
