Bulut:"Right now we don’t have any injuries. Only small ones but not that anyone won’t be unavailable."

Bulut: "I didn’t like it. He is a good striker. We will try everything come January."

How are you seeing the team?

Bulut:"Defensive shape we are much better than how we started the season. It is the most difficult to create and finalise chances. In the last games it was not as good as it was before.

"We need confidence in those offensive players. They have to believe in themselves. They did it before and now they have to do it again."

Bulut: "Confidence is much better than we had at the start. We have grown game to game with this. The offensive players, when they don’t score or create, we have to continue to work.

"We create but don’t score. Before we were creating and scoring quite well. Now we have to find our winning spirit to win games. We have to win points and win games."

How are you seeing your dressing room?




Bulut:"Their heads are not down. Even my players know the games they lost they could take points from it. That’s important. Until now, we have feared no teams. And we won’t.

"We know our level. We know how we progress until now. Still I can get some more from some players to be more positive on the field. I am pushing my players."

Bulut:"I read it here and every day in the Turkish press. He is a great player. He would be a great addition to us. But it’s not possible to bring him to us. He will cost money to take him out of Trabzon. Even if he was free it would not be possible.

"Like Salih Ucan. Of course I would like to sign them, but it’s not possible. That’s not going to happen. He is too expensive as well. There are many names we cannot bring here. I want my best for Cardiff City. Wanting it and doing it is something else. We want quality, good players in our team. We will push to get three or four players."

Bulut:"He is 28, 29 - for a goalkeeper that is young. He will get better. He is good on the ball, he will get better. If you make one mistake you won’t be out of the team.

"He will make mistakes. Defenders and strikers make mistakes - how many chances have we missed? They will miss and makes mistakes and I will support them in any case."

Bulut:"Football players, they look at social media. We support him. Even Jak, I supported him. He has played great games for us, but he lost a bit of confidence. He is a great guy. We have two great goalkeepers. I will continue with Alex. We need to support our team-mates."

Erol Bulut: “My aim this season”


"I'm always someone with targets. I have targets that I convey to my footballers as well. We mustn't forget that over the past two years, this club has faced significant troubles," he told IHA.

"Last season, if Reading hadn't had their six-point deduction, Cardiff City would have been relegated from the league. They would have played in League One this season. They stayed in the Championship that way and then we came in.

"Despite our transfer ban we managed to make a few transfers. We didn't have a chance to make transfers while giving a transfer fee. We could only acquire loan players or free transfers. We completed nine transfers in that manner.

"If you ask, 'Are you satisfied with the current situation?' Yes, I am. The club is content, the fans are content, the city is content. But if you ask, 'Is it sufficient?' I cannot say it is, because we always need to strive for more.”


"The club's intention to finish the league in a good position is admirable, but my aim is to finish the season within the top 10. If we make transfers in January, we can push for the play-offs. God willing, we can achieve that."

With just six months remaining on his initial one-year deal with the Bluebirds, Bulut is comfortable with his situation. "I signed a one-year contract with Cardiff City," he said. "The club is expressing their satisfaction at the moment. The fans and the city want us to continue. If everything goes well, we will sit down in a few months and discuss the details of a new contract."

Alex Runarsson has come in for criticism - sticking by him?

Bulut:"I am not of that opinion. Because the last game against Southampton, the two goals he conceded he cannot do anything. If you want to speak about mistakes, we can speak about many different things but not Alex Runarsson. He has played the last three games.

"Against Preston, the goal he conceded, it was a difficult situation. Where the situation starts and ends. We have to see the whole picture. If you focus just on one person you can say many things. You have to look at the whole picture.

"I will never say to the press that certain players have made mistakes. Inside, maybe. I will never say because of one person we won or lost. We lose together and win together. Everyone makes mistakes. Every week I have to speak about different players - then I don’t have a a team!"

Two home games in next five days, seven games until FA Cup - concerned about your form?

Bulut: "When we see the last games we had, we lost the games. That’s normal. We played against teams and you can lose against those teams because of their quality. But we shouldn’t! In my opinion, against West Brom at home, we could take one point. Against Norwich, we should win. They are a good team, but in that moment, we should beat them. We are missing four points, we could say.

"In Preston, great game, 90 minutes we were playing good. The only issue against West Brom was that we didn’t score. We had the chances. Southampton, the first 20 minutes, we were slipping. After the 2-0 we woke up but it was too late. For 75 minutes we tried everything to score and I think it was a good game after that 20 minutes."

O’Dowda and Ramsey?

Bulut: "They are continuing well with their training sessions. I hope that one of those guys, maybe O’Dowda, can be before January with us. I hope, but the medical department knows better than me. They are running, not training with us, just step by step they are coming closer.

"O’Dowda, to be with us at the training sessions, with the ball and the team, around Christmas."

"First of all, it will cost money to take him out of Trabzon. Even if he was free it would not be possible for us to pay his wages.”

"That’s not going to happen. He is too expensive. For us, it is not possible. There are many names we cannot bring here. I want always the best for my team, for Cardiff City. I am targeting players and I am pushing. But wanting it and doing it is two different thing. We want quality, good players in our team. We will push in January to get three or four players."

While these players might be out of Cardiff's reach as things stand, it is likely Bulut will dip into the overseas market when the window opens next month.


The Bluebirds boss said he wouldn't necessarily bring in players he has managed before, but admitted he is likely to look at countries like Germany and Greece as he whittles down his shortlist of targets.


"Not players I've worked with before, but I know the players from the leagues," he said. "Let's say Germany, Greece, from Europe where they are working. For some players it is difficult to get them.

"Right now, I don't know about the budget. Not yet. I keep my list (of players) ready. So I think, in a short time, we have to talk about what we can do and if we can do something. I have to prepare myself and the team for that. I have to know that, because the target we have, what I have in my head, it's important what I can do in January.

"If I can not do it then some things have to change."

Ninian27 ought to read this. Like quite a few in this current side he will get better with games. The gaffer is spot on.

Ramsey and O’Dowda getting closer to fitness.

He still seems confident about Moore joining, not so confident about the two Turkish players linked. But he also said Siopis would be difficult to sign.

He’s right, we need to improve our attacking play again. Starting this weekend.
