After the Bristol City away game Riza deleted his Twitter account after reading what fans were saying.

Omer Riza :

Speaking about his decision to come off the social media platform and delete his Twitter account:

Riza said: "I speak to the boys about white noise, sometimes you've just got to take it away to do your job properly. I just felt I was reading stuff all the time that I didn't really need to read.

"It's probably helped me, coming away from it. I can just focus. I'm not being ignorant - I still read stuff, because I think it's good to read stuff, sometimes it can help you. But I decided to come off of it, because it was getting to a point where some of the stuff just made no sense.

"If it made no sense, then why was I reading it? I came off it and felt better for it.

"If you look back over the results now, Bristol City away 1-1, West Brom 0-0, if you win your games at home and draw your games away, I think you're picking up good points. You want to win away, you want to win every game, but it's not always as easy as what people say."

"I haven't spoken to the players about it," he said of social media. "The only thing I speak to the players about is making sure they're alright. If I catch someone who is not his normal character, I'll pull him.

"I spoke to a few people today, three or four players. Just something I like to do, I think it's important. But regarding social media, I've not actually spoken to them. The world has gone crazy with it.”

Don't blame him, the over reaction from some fans after the Bristol game was completely unfair. Twitter is awful since Elon Musk bought it too. Mostly societies cesspit dominate it now.

Agree, players get enough abuse so can only imagine it's even worse for managers. Don't blame Riza one bit.

Brennan Johnson deleted his socials after getting abuse from Spurs fans, gone from strength to strength since then.

Good for him. He’s not missing much. Social media seems to attract the empty vessels of this world.

The fact that Riza pulls in his players and checks in on how they're feeling is fantastic. That's a real string to your bow if you're a manager and indicates the type of person you are.

No wonder the players like him.

Totally agree with over reactions from our fans, we've been doing it for decades.

On your 2nd point you are correct as well. Since Elon Musk took over free speech was reinstated, different opinions to the MSM were no longer cancelled and normal folk were, and still are, allowed to say what they think. What a cesspit that is. :bluebird:

I said after that Bristol game - with the 2 week International break that Riza would still be in charge v Plymouth .

That Bristol game - he made his biggest mistake to date with the subs on the hour mark and IMO - He realised at the end.
Good timing to leave social media and give himself the 2 weeks to plan for Plymouth and Portsmouth .
Riza has done a Good Job - Brought in players overlooked by the last manager - performance /results better...
Good Luck to him - Hope if results are going our way he gets the job :bluebird:

The more I read about Riza the more I like him.

The players seem to like him and are reacting to his coaching and tactics, and it sounds like his man management skills are good too.

I may be getting to excited, but I'd give him a contract until the end of the season.

I’m with you Mike.

If anyone can tell me a manager who has played the players others didn’t take chances on, played good, attacking football, had the team on singing their praises, and backs up what he says, in the recent past I’ll eat my hat.

I struggle to see why some people give him a hard time.

That's a very good point about a previous manager.

The only negative I can find is his inexperience but everyone has to start somewhere.

Another big test for Riza and the boys tomorrow. If we don't win, I can't see it being because we didn't try.

Good for him, Social media can be tyrannical at times as many will know. And I think he is correct to view it as an unneeded distraction.
