A forum for all things Cardiff City

I received an invitation to attend last nights meeting from Ben Jones - Fans Engagement Assistant and Disability Access Officer CCFC. As I was invited, I felt it only right to attend.
I am sure that there will be someone on this message board who will give a fuller account so I will give mine very briefly.
As well as Ken Choo and Mehmet, there were others on the 3 top tables representing Marketing, ticketing, the Academy and may other departments and they all gave an insight into the work they do behind the scenes. My take from listening to to them is that there is a hell of a lot of work going on behind the scenes which us fans really don't know about so, for my part it was a bit of an eye-opener. I have to say one of the speakers that I was most impressed with was Gavin Chesterfield who, along with going through slides he prepared, gave us an understanding of what is entailed in running an Academy.
Mehmet did take 3 answers from the Fans Parliament, the answers that stood out for me was why they have gone outside the club for assistance and why no Director of Football has been appointed - cost.
It was disheartening to hear that he was still getting death threats re the ongoing Sala Court action though but I guess until that is settled these will continue.
There was also discussion about the concerns of drinking inside the ground and it was confirmed that the club were considering this license wise which had a mixed response from the audiences.
Another concern was raised about the club taking part in the Welsh League cup and ramification s for our tenure in the EFL. They confirmed that talks are still ongoing, there is a lot of jealously among other EFL clubs as this would bring the club extra revenue that the other clubs won't get.
The one question I did ask was if they are any nearer to settling the manager position as according to BBC Sport Wales "Cardiff City's hierarchy will meet interim manager Omer Rita and other staff for talks at the week end" which to my mind suggested the talk would be about Omer's future. Mehmet responded with one word - no!
All in all I enjoyed the meeting which lasted for over an hour an a half and if any of you are invited in the future I would recommend you going.
As Ive said I am sure there will be a fuller account posted but I just wanted to give you a brief overview.
Cheers

Thanks for that. It was a good read.
On the European Competition point, whilst I understand other clubs concerns, the reality is that mere membership of the Premier League earns a club more than winning the Welsh Cup and perhaps playing two or three European games.
So dont be jealous of us. Concentrate on getting promoted

As a club we would get minimal 5m for getting through to knockout stage... plus this season welsh premier league got 1m to share with the other 11 teams..... plus coefficiency means get extra team into europe... so for welsh league it's well worth the effort

7 weeks after sacking Bulut..Dalman confirms they are no closer to appointing a permanent replacement?
Sums up our club..rudderless and clueless off the pitch
Tan, Dalman and Choo are completely useless!!

Problem is what if we lose our next 2/3 games ?
We will be bottom of the league and still nowhere near appointing a new permanent Manager 9 weeks after sacking Bulut
No contingency plan in place..the 3 clowns in charge are clueless

What would you like them to do? Offer someone the job just in case, I'm sure that would go well? Replace Riza immediately? Give Riza the job? Something else?
Serious question.
This just looks like finding any reason to knock the club, no matter what happens.

It's a great pity that the players can't fix our predicament and provide this or any other nansge success..
Must be tough fir any owner , backroom, manager to manage these over inflated over paid egos .
Just get on the field and deliver 90 mine would do me .
Let's not forget how much they earn , and how little a lot of fans earn .. who also have to perform to keep thier job ..

Not at all…I’m just pointing out that yet again we sacked a Manager early in the season with absolutely no plan or idea with who to replace him with
And here we are 7 weeks later with the club in limbo…the board are clueless and never learn from their mistakes

The plan was/is Riza. He's just taken us 6 unbeaten (not happened since April/May 2021).
We are top of the form league.
We have just taken 14 points from an available 18.
Clueless isn't what's currently happening, to be fair.

I appreciate you posting this and thank you for doing so, have read it.
But personally I was fooled by Dalman last summer so never going to believe what he says again.
