Top 6 says City star

Mon Nov 04, 2024 7:18 pm

Callum Robinson via Instagram:

“My targets for the season is to finish in the Top 6 positions and to score as many goals as I can. Playing games, getting minutes and to earn myself a new contract off the hard work I’ve been putting in.”

this is an attitude of a man with a point to prove i love this :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Robbo is a different player since bulut great attitude

I think he always had a great attitude. He had a poor manager.

He is what he is, a mid table Championship player. Nothing more, nothing less.

But he has given his all in recent weeks, which couldn't be said in the past by his own admission.

Long may it continue.

Faint praise indeed. That's probably marginally kinder than what our former manager would've said to him!

If I was busting my nuts for the team (and he is putting a shift in), being described as an average championship player but no more, would send me away with my head bowed - good job it's not you motivating the lad!

And has CR47 admitted that he hasn't been at the level of acceptable performance previously? Can't recall that?

It's not my job to motivate him, it is my job to give my honest opinion and that's what I've done.

I've given him credit by saying his attitude has been right this season.

But I can't say he's a top Championship player because he isn't. He's only hit double figures in goals and assists in two of the last six seasons - I hope that will change this season, on course to.

I will give him credit that he's being played as a striker when it's not his best position, he's really a number ten. That's where he was best for West Brom. But he's doing well as a striker.

But he is a run of the mill Championship player. People who say he's anything more than that are letting themselves get carried away.

For example, our fans would have walked away from Saturday's game and said "that Sainz is some player'. Opposition fans may say that about Colwill and Robertson over the season, but they won't say it about Robinson.

Top 6, christ! After the start we've had, I'd be over the moon if we beat our points tally of last year.

Fair play though, I wanted Robbo gone after he appeared to sulk for most of last season. Just find it hard to believe that anyone earning 25k plus a week for playing the sport we all love could ever feel sorry for themselves.

However, these last 6 games, he's been excellent and is one of the first names down on the team sheet for me. I really hope his form continues. He's defo more skilful than I ever gave him credit for.

I don’t think any amount of money means anything if he’s had a very bad time with bulut and injuries it’s bound to be so frustrating , he just wants to play football in a good team with a manager who understands the players and in a happy environment, so I can see why he had his blip last season , he’s human and money means f**k all in the big sceam of things .
I’m buzzing for him ,
I chatted to him last season and he said sometimes it ain’t nice when players don’t know if they’re staying at a club or not, so he had that hanging over his head with all that bulut bullshit .
What an amazing difference one positive manager can do :bluebird:

We need that work ethic to continue throughout the team and a real desire from all.

No I in team and with that I am sure we can achieve with or without signings.

If we can then as fans ramp up the support then we have a chance but take it game by game. Roll on Kenilworth Rd!!

He needed forward thinking players around him, suddenly they are all on the same wavelength, we are hard to stop with Robbo, Colwill, Tanner, El Ghazi, NG and O'Dowda you can't double up on all of them.

Get Ralls and Rambo fit and firing then we have Turnbull, Siopsis, Robertson , Colwill pushing each other.

Still need another striker who can regularly pitch in !

We need to keep the momentum going.

Issak Davies will thrive in this team, and Etete will look a lot better, but if we can get a young Premiership Striker on loan we could fly for the second half of the season.
