A forum for all things Cardiff City

OMER RIZA:
"I think it needs consistency from the top down.
It takes time. There has to be a plan in place for what it is the club wants to do - how they want to play. I know that comes down to the manager coming in and how they are going to do that and I've already stated how I want to do that.
I am not going to talk about what the team needs, in respect of the players, but what the boys have to give is a wholehearted performance all the time - in training, around the city, on the pitch - and have a respect which is deserved of the city and the club.
I have an affinity for young players because I came through a system myself. I want to give young players an opportunity but you can only do that when there is a solid foundation and you are ready to give them those opportunities, otherwise it hinders them. And I want to win games! I want to see this team back in the Premier League, because it's Cardiff, it's a massive club and for as long as I can remember it's been a big club. It's got a great history and fan base, but you can't achieve all these things without consistency."

The club has needed a plan for the last 15 years everyone knows that (apart from Tan and his 2 puppets apparently)

do you think riza maybe blaming the board a little just in case the results go the wrong way?,the club have never had a plan they don’t have a 5 day plan never mind a 5 year plan that’s clear as day

He said that and we all no it it's not rocket science is it.
A philosophy has been the missing ingredient for a very long time since Tan took over really.
I can't see this ever happening while Tan is in charge .The Cardiff way is what the manager decides at that time it's his way not the cardiff way .
We've wasted so much time and money changing managers and styles of play over the years it's ruined us really.
At least Riza is talking sense there in my mind .If all teams play with the same philosophy for a long time and the entire club top to bottom implement it then it can bring success. Each new manager would have to suit the club and it's philosophy. It takes years but I agree with riza totally

Nigel’s comment is baffling.

Head coaches are two a penny, some work some don't. IMO he has shown enough as a head coach, he knows what he is doing. What the club needs is someone to manage the club. In 70's & 80's that used to be the general manager but since the turn of the century clubs have a multitude of names for the posts but its not the head coach.
Russel Slade was an appalling head coach but did a decent job of sorting out the club, get him back to oversee the footballing operations side. We have a recruitment team, a head coach, we just haven't someone to run the club. Its quite insane considering the money we waste

Nigel seems fickle as fock. And the type of fan that never going to be happy whoever in charge as soon as 1 or 2 bad results. Riza record 4 wins 2 draws 2 defeats (including Hull). Im happy with him for forseeable
