Low energy and fitness levels

Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:04 pm

Too many times this season we've seen our team have low energy and fitness levels.

The manager (whoever it has been) and the players have always said "we've had a lot of games in a short space of time", even though it's been more or less the same schedule of matches for every other club.

Well this week there is no excuse and the team should have higher energy and fitness levels than Preston.

We didn't play on Saturday but Preston played Sheffield Wednesday away. They also have to travel from Preston to Cardiff for the game.

We won't have had a game for over ten days.

So there are no excuses against Preston.

This is the issue I’ve got with the team I’m not going to single individuals out but when u watch teams against us their energy levels and fitness pace are way better we ain’t got energy to press never mind counter attack we always seem to have loads injury’s that take players for ever to recover from

Because as I’ve said countless times the medical team are primma donnas full of their self importance who don’t even warm the players up properly prior to kick off. And this is because we haven’t a manager or a coaching team who are cracking the whip from the start demanding the highest of standards. This would never happen under a Malky or a Warnock. Sadly the club is in disarray which is because of the hierarchy who show no leadership.

I've said it since the start of the season that this useless bunch don't look fit.

A lot of pressure is on this squad and yes it will look like fitness levels are low.

I also think the uncertainty of the manager situation has had a reflection on it all. Now we have sort of sorted that situation out we might see some improvement.

That’s what happens when the hiring policy is cheap players who are injury prone.

It’s not due to amount of games, it’s due to the amount of injury prone players we like to buy.
