The Players and Riza

Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:09 pm

Well, Riza has got what he clearly wanted and had been openly and brazenly touting for since he was appointed interim manager.

The players have been quite vocal in their support for Riza with a number of them saying that they wanted him to be given the job.

So now the players and the manager have been given what they've asked for it's time for them all to shit or get off the pot.

The players need to pull their fingers out for a change and raise their game because with one or two exceptions their performances this season have been woeful and the manager needs to prove that he can get a tune out of the players.

If we lose against Watford and Preston the atmosphere in the ground ( well the few thousand still attending) will be extremely unpleasant I fear.

What a way to celebrate 125 years of our club.

Great post. Spot on.

I'm never sure when the players say they really want an interim manager to get the job - suggests they're having it quite easy at the moment.

My sentiments exactly.

He is your boss, not your friend.

He is making it very difficult to cut them in April when nearly all of them shouldn't get new deals. My guess is the senior pro's sit around the table and help him pick the team and tactics. Great when it works, genius, but lonely when it doesn't.

We needed a reset (again) but got continuity.

Possibly true or the players are glad that EB has gone and some of those players who he did not start are starting now or getting game time and would rather Omer as their manager ( All went well to start off with - but not of late ) .

Don’t understand the hatred for Riza personally, had to step in when needed and with no experience has done a reasonable job.
Come on hate Tan but let’s all get behind Riza and the team :bluescarf:

No hatred for Riza at all.

We just wanted an experienced Manager after all the previous crap Tan has brought in so he can boss.
