Avoiding relegation

Thu Dec 12, 2024 7:09 pm

No long term strategy
Lack of decent investment
An inexperienced manager
A bang average squad

What Riza needs to do?
1/Choose a starting11 of players who give 1000%
2/Set us up so we are hard to beat
3/Try to ensure some pace in attack

Dont keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Eg don’t play CR and Rubin in the same team - too slow and lethargic. (Infact dont play Robinson at all as per 2/ above).

We don’t have 11 players who give 1000%, we don’t even have 11 players that give 100%

The fact we play 1 up top with no out and out striker is crazy.

Colwill must be the slowest player we have? Plus why isn't he told to keep eye on ball and control it before he tries to do a fancy flick!

To avoid relegation you need two things.

Players of quality to come off the bench and
Players with a bit of leadership and fight about them

At the moment I believe we have quality in defence (Fish and Daland) we just don’t play them.

Everywhere else we are doomed.

As I said in the opening thread. Get 11 players who work hard, and close down and get some pace in attack (Not Robinson).

We showed heart and were harder to beat. Feel sorry for the manager and players that we didnt get the away win.

I said before a ball was kicked this season anything better than last season will do me currently we won't even get that. Although some said top six which really cracked me up. This squad isn't good enough to push near the top half that's the bottom line whoever the scapegoat manager is sadly. People need to take there horse blinkers off.

It starts from the top down and it's rotten up there.

I’d say three things I agree with the above but:

An experienced manager, who knows what he’s doing :)

What "better things to do" did you do today? I'm guessing Aldis.

Yeah that would be nice but I’m hoping Riza comes good again

Spent it with the family, not that it’s any of your concern?

Im afraid I am for the old CCFC, run till you drop, battle for anything, put in 100% every game for 90 minutes, get your gloves off your hands. and play for the shirt. If you do that and we go down battling then so be it but we didn't just roll over.

Unfortunately, with this group of players it is highly unlikely that will happen :bluebird:

Correct, I wasn't concerned. Just following your multiple posts of you making the point that you were done and doing other stuff etc...

Plans for this Saturday?

Oxford have appointed Gary Rowett...think they'll be safe from the bottom 3 come April/May next year.

Bad news for us!

In fairness to Riza he has tried to do 1/ 2/ and 3/ above. Willock El Ghazi and Meite worked hard and for an hour we were hard to beat. I still think we can escape relegation but Riza desperately needs a centre forward who can be a threat (and head the ball!). Over to you Mr Tan!!!?!!

Robinson Kanga and Colwell were a totally different proposition. So slow. Davies and Etete will be better options. Yet again no challenges from CR.(please sell). The 2 younsters that came on put in more effort than them.

If Riza is stating that he believes he’ll have 2 new strikers in a few weeks (Etete and Davies) that’ll be music to Tan’s ears. IMO , no striker and or same manager come January it’ll be relegation for us. I’m usually very very positive but I can’t see a way out unless one of the fools in charge can’t see what we need to do….as a matter of urgency.
