The loss at Leeds made me think about their players, and ultimately who the best player is that I’ve seen in the Championship.
Who would you say it is?
There have been some great players over the years, Adel Tarabt, Ruben Neves, Ivan Toney all come to mind.
I’d still say though regardless of those players, Whitts has got to be up there if not the best championship player.

Spot on Whitts is the one for me.
He’s right up there.

Not sure about the best player but the best forward line I have seen has to be Keegan, Beardsley and Waddle at Newcastle. (Second division).

City’s three new signings this January.

Taraabt. No contest.
He tore us apart twice.
Honourable mention to Mitrovic.

God I remember playing them at home (around 1981?) and the 3 of them played so well we literally couldn’t get out of our own half. They were superb.

Bellers has to be up there But the best player to come out of the championship was Bale and saw him play.

Jack Grealish has to be up there for most gifted
Hate the guy, but what a player. With Villa you’d hope someone would smash him as he had that edge over every player in the division to always start an attack or gain free kicks in dangerous positions.
Like him or hate him, his football ability is up there

Have a look at some of the videos of him taking time out with kids and disabled kids mate. Certainly changed my view on him.

October 1983 and a Wednesday night game if I remember rightly. I came home from Torquay where I was working especially for the game. (seemed a long way to come in those days!

).
Just for good measure I think Terry McDermott was in midfield.

I actually forgot about Grealish, that’s a good shout.

Taraabt is the best I've seen in the flesh at this level. What a player.
Others that come to mind, but not in this list...
Darren Huckerby - felt like he had pace 5 or 6 times above the rest and was deadly when in behind the defence.
Newcastle's championship winning squad - the best all around team that I've seen at this level; had Geremi and Nicky Butt on the bench. I remember Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan having a giggle at ours, whilst 2-0 up and just passing it around at a training pace.
Whitts definitely has a spot as already mentioned. Best left foot outside of 'world class'. His highlights reel is special.
Billy Sharp - Goalscorer. Everywhere he went.
Wes Morgan - What a defender at this level and went on to win the prem.

Craig Bellamy was real quality for City. Jamie Vardy also deserves an honorary mention

Has to be Jermaine Defoe.
Spent the entire game watching his movement he was an absolute nightmare to defend.

Koumas' first spell with us and then his season with WBA has to be up there!! Would score from nothing and worth the admission fee to see him strike a football!!!
Crazy that DJ convinced him to hand in a transfer request but we couldn't stump up the cash in the Ridsdale era.

He was outstanding that first spell and if he hadn't been injured for most of the second spell we would have been promoted, would have remained in blue and Dave Jones would not have been sacked.,

Taraabt.
I don’t think it’s even close.
That guy was absolutely ridiculous. Let’s be honest, he took QPR up all by himself!
