You think so do you ?
Bristol City is our local derby and we usually send tickets back and that’s with an allocation of 2,400

Joff,
Sadly correct our last 5 visits there, we’ve only sold out 2 of them and NO Bubbles.
We have lost our amazing away support big time.
I remember going to Burnley away No restrictions, Pay on the day, Last away game under Malky , Promoted to the Premier League . Gave us 2,000 Tickets, We barely took 1,400 Fans

Alot of that was down to the horrible rebrand. I didn't go due to this as did slot of others
Our away support is what it is....I think on our day we have always the chance to pull huge numbers but our fans have always been picky and chosey ever since I can remember....

Preston to Blackburn is 10 miles. 22 minutes away. The equivalent of Barry Town away for us.
Cardiff to Bristol is 44 miles. 1 hr away. Over triple the distance.
Hardly comparable!

I take it you don’t go away ?
An extra 30 minutes in a train is totally irrelevant. The fact is Bristol is our local derby and the closest club to ourselves. We can’t even sell out 2,400. Preston on occasions only attract 9,000 home fans , so to take 6,600 is phenomenal and we have never taken that many to an away in the league in my lifetime.

I go to plenty, including Bristol City countless times, which we've sold out more times than not.
Not sure how many times I need to say this but Preston to Blackburn isn't the same as Cardiff to Bristol.
In a hypothetical world where Barry Town/Penarth/Newport/Caerphilly played in the Championship and had an away end of 6k, I would be able to prove that point.

To a significant amount of our supporters it takes just as long to get to Bristol as it takes to get to Barry. I have also been to Newport and the only time we look more than 1,500 was an 1982/83, when Somerton park held 18,000 and we took around 3,000.
Even very small teams like Oldham take 4,000 to Rochdale ( last night) , I sincerely doubt we would in the National League

The point is , we don’t sell out 2,400 at Bristol and we have never ever taken 6,500 to an away day. Whilst the clubs are close do you think every fan lives within the same distance?
Why is it we can’t sell out for out local derbies when they are a further 15 minutes travelling time than Preston fans to Blackburn?

A quick search on X will tell you we've sold out Bristol at least twice in the last 3 years. Yes, this season we didn't (I was there), but can you really blame our fans after that horrendous start to the season? Our fans deserve more credit than what you're giving.

Mr Ducie wrote:We haven’t sold out at Bristol City in the last three years. Away fans visiting Ashton Gate are located in the Atyeo Stand, named after former playing legend John Atyeo. This is situated near the Lansdown Stand and has a typical allocation for visiting supporters of 4,200, we have just about managed to sell the initial allocation , which is 2,500. The lower section which is the extra tickets goes unsold and is covered with advertising and netting.
So just to repeat , we can’t even sell out at Bristol City..
