Quite pleased with that.
It's an attractive tie and I expect we'll take a decent amount there.

Only good game for city would been Preston... all games are difficult against Premier league...
But never know .

Away again.

Prefer that. Makes it more interesting going to a ground we won't do in the league.
If we were at home to someone like Plymouth or Burnley, the stadium would be empty anyway.
Probably one of the better draws we could have got

Decent chance of it being televised I think.
If both Palace and Forest win tonight and tomorrow night, our game will be one of only three that is between teams from a different league.

I wonder how strong a team Villa will put out as the game is scheduled to take place only a few days before the 1st leg of round 16 of the Champions League.

For a place in the quarter finals it will be very strong..
They took Spurs apart yesterday...

Brilliant draw...We've had 2 extra games already to gets mins for players looking to prove they deserve a shot and they've now been rewarded with a big game against a team playing champions league.
Will be an excellent experience for players and fans, nothing to fear everything to gain.

Villa ground is crap if they only give us seats in the upper tier though. Too far away from the pitch. (well, they were last time I went)

They have to give us an increased allocation for the FA Cup so may be in a different area.
Don't know where the Spurs fans were yesterday but they could be clearly heard on TV.

The Leeds result may look better after we’ve played Villa!
Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:52 pm
Allocation will be 6,521
Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:55 pm
Ye same I think we had the top part of the North stand behind the goal for the addional seats you get with the cup comp.
Was a brilliant atmosphere though. Think it was league cup but maybe wrong.
I've been further from the pitch ..... Newcastle comes to mind!

Why not be bold and play most of 1st team players against a weakened villa side? just 2 games from Wembley!

Interesting to see what kind of team we put out for this one...
Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:02 am
I've only been there once, surprised how big and noisey it was, we lost to a last minute worldie from Grealish.
Mad how both teams fortunes have changed since then
Tue Feb 11, 2025 7:04 am
Villa could have a champions league game on the 4th.
With a bit of luck they could play the kids against us!
Tue Feb 11, 2025 7:07 am
Apologies, seen this has already been muted earlier on the thread..

Villa will have a Champions League game, a few days after this match. This is going to have a huge bearing on their team selection.

Likewise with ourselves if we have not got the points on the table ...
