A forum for all things Cardiff City

No getting away from it, that result is extremely damaging. Would have taken a draw but a defeat is a big problem.
Pompey deserved to win and should have won by more.
We played alright for the last 20 minutes in the first half.
But the second half was awful, we offered nothing.
Didn't help that we gave them two easy goals.
Mannsverk our MOTM.
Saturday is huge now against Bristol, we have to win.

As always, we give the opposition a f*cking head start.
I wasn’t confident to begin with though, knowing how good their home form has been. At Home they’re really tough, and have had some cracking results.
That Olglive is a horrible little fucker though. How he hasn’t got a red card at the end for a scissor challenge, completely out of control is crazy.
Definitely got bullied as a f*cking child.
On to Bristol City!

Ned can you see us winning riza seems obsessed with not losing games? Our subs should have started game cause them problems bot let them control the game from start to finish... Alves and Salech didn't have more than a curtesy pass in 25mins of play ... really pissed of with way we set up again!
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:47 pm
Totally agree, Ned:@; as soon as we think we’re getting better, we produce the Leeds result and follow it up with defensive mistakes like that against Stoke and now Portsmouth
Our strikers are under pressure to score three or more before we even start these days and we need to get Salech on from the start against the Wurzels on Saturday!

Continue to perform like that and we are going down.
20 minutes out of 90 is really poor.
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:48 pm
Absolutely pathetic performance, and I dare say the majority of us thought it would be after seeing the starting line up. The midfield was over run all game, and to cap it all off they go with a 4-4-2 in the last 20 minutes with one of the CM’s being Colwill? Which just cemented the loss after 70 minutes.
I can’t remember a game where we lost so many second balls. We were absolutely toothless in attack and the front 3 were absolutely woeful today.
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:49 pm
Something needs to be done about the defence, but I honestly don’t even know where to start with it!
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:50 pm
The formation was working after the shocking start but Riza was impatient and thought that Salech could do all of Robinsons work.
I am never Robinsons biggest fan, and tonight is why. We carried him. He loves the idea of being a footballer apart from the work and commitment. He isn't a 10 or second striker, he needs to start from the bench.
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:51 pm
After the first awful 20 mins we came back into the game. Some credit for that.
Most of the players worked hard. I quite like Riza but imo he bottled it tonight and took off Ashford when he should have subbed Robinson who was anonymous for most of the match.
The positive was Mannsverk and the fact that we have several players who can play on the wing. Alves was promising and El Ghazi has talent. So lets put the centre forward on from the start. PLEASE!

Our away form is shocking, one away win all season that and a managment team that has no experience will see us relegated this season.
Tue Feb 11, 2025 9:59 pm
Going down unfortunately
Weak all over the pitch

I have to say Portsmouth fans were brilliant excellent support.
We couldn't cope first 20 then scored and grew into the game first half.
Second half was there ball was in the air a lot both teams panicked and showed poor quality neither controlled the game .
Difference was and has been so many times this season the other team wanted it more .
Defence has to get sorted out way to many goals conceded.
Way to many negative backwards and sideways passing aswell.
We didn't go for the jugular and we never do .
Left frustrating anger concerned again .
Not enough tonight AGAIN

I thought fish and Goutas did alright tonight. Attack was weak

We were pathetic in the first 10 minutes and it was so predictable. They wanted it more with a very basic squad. Riza has failed his first major test this month. It's not good enough to roll over like we did. Derby's draw tonight keeps us out of the bottom 3 and they'll be many more twists and turns yet. But Riza needs a derby result again at the weekend. Lose that and I think we may need start hitting a panic button for a new manager.

Neither of them were anywhere to be seen for either Portsmouth goal.
It's all about opinions of course but I felt they were both extremely poor - as were the rest of the team.

Someone also needs to tell Goutas that he's not Beckenbauer.

I don’t get Riza’s constant tinkering with the starting 11. It’s like he’s constantly trying to prove he can do something clever and unexpected, rather than just select the best 11. When I saw the lineup today I couldn’t see how we were set up to hurt them and what you get when you don’t have an attacking outlet is wave after wave of the opposition attacking.

Alves needs to get the ball to his feet as soon as possible he is quick and will cause teams problems he be good as a cam as for the game it was a bad result we have found a bit of form it’s not over yet by a long way we will win games against better teams but same up in Oxford when we need to scrap this team haven’t got fight in them
