At last someone with common sense what i was saying it was Tans appointment not fans,
we where listing all these mangers steve cooper slaven bilic but we ended up having an intrim to manage the best part of the season ,
but we beat the jacks and a point or so from the bottom 3 how far our ambition is and content to mull along the bottom of the division in our 125th anniversary year some celebration we are having fans turning away in there droves getting thrashed 7nil yes its all looking great.

Have fans actually appointed a manger before anywhere? Of course its tans appointment he owns the club wheter we want it or not. He wouldn’t be my first choice either but he’s our manager now and he and the team need us more than ever to help pull them through. We at the level we are traditionally been. Of we we want to be better but so do all the other professional clubs out there. Look at Luton on for a double relegation way more of a basket case than us. We haven’t got it the best by a long shot but we also haven’t got it the worst.

I understand that he is here to stay but i don' t have to agree about his position whrn i day its tans choice obviously he has the say but he went for the cheap option which was his choice regardless of our position even when we where struggling he did not want the likes of bilic mobray cooper this is why the protest started everyone can see he has lost interest and could not give a flying f.ck a out us fans
I wanted the best we could get manager wise as i did not want us to slip down any further and have had to accept like all fans riza appointment,
but i don' t have to agree with it and he put himself up for the job so he has to take the sh.t aswell as the pats on the back and after all we are 2 points off relegation so in the mire with appaulling displays amd losses and tactics that make your blood boil but i still cheer the team on and will be there sat for.

Your right monty except billic was a non starter because of contract reasons but who's to say he won't be here next season?

Riza picks the team Riza picks the tactics the buck stops with him needs to be replaced if we going to have any chance of staying up

As someone else has mentioned above, Tan would only bring Purse in. That would be guaranteed relegation.

I want to say that first off I really like Riza as a bloke. That win over the jacks was also wonderful! Honestly I was buzzing for days of that! The truth is in my opinion though that he really isn’t good enough. If you now look at the managers at the clubs around us they are getting serious managers in. Plymouth have picked up massively since changing, derby have got eustace in, Oxford have also got an experienced manager in rowett. Hull got Selles who is highly rated. We got a coach who has never managed at anywhere near this level before. Unfortunately this looks like the year where we stop circling the drain and finally slip down the plug hole. Hope I’m wrong and as I say I really like the bloke but other clubs around us aren’t messing around with interim back room coaches with no experience.

Very good post, Riza would be ok if we were seeing the season out (can't go up or down) but we are now hitting the business end, and our away form is shambolick.

Omer will come good, mistakes will happen, poor decisions etc but he seems like a genuine chap who sees managing us as a privilege not just a pay check.

Some of you seem to think we have some kind of right to be higher in the league and shouldn’t have to fight to stay up.

With a new manager you risk losing players current form, Robinson, Chambers and Ashford have flourished under Omer, want to risk that? A new manager could disrupt the few players we have in form, upset the camp and sink our season to the bottom of the league. Be careful what you wish for…

This post is too sensible for most.

The players need to take some of the responsibility for poor results too. Yes Riza picks the team and tactics (or does he???) but we have very experienced players on that pitch who should be performing better whoever the manager is.

This is the crunch end of the season and we need better from the squad.

On too many occasions there is no bollocks, desire and commitment from the team - there have been too many times we haven't turned up in the first half of matches and it's cost us dearly.

For those who are happy for Riza to continue, return to this thread at the end of the season to give us your thoughts when City are occupying one of the relegation places and are on the way to League for the first time in over 20 years.

We deserve better. We are coasting to relegation. The players like Riza because he won't lay into them, even when performances are lamentable.

That was the case with the players long before Riza arrived, you can't put that on him.

We were in the bottom three when Riza took charge, now we're not. Because of the start to the season, it was always going to be a relegation battle.

I hope you'll return to this thread at the end of the season when Riza proves you wrong.

I'm not holding my breath that you'll do that though.

This obsession with sacking managers for no good reason is unhealthy. Not a fan of how Tan runs the club, but glad that a lot of people on here don't run it - we'd have six managers a season.

You've got me wrong. I'll be the first to hold my hands up and praise Riza if he keeps us up but someone will need to resurrect this thread in April/ May.

I wonder if there's a cultural / attitude thing with the players at times because they downed tools with Bulut. I do wonder whether Riza has the full respect of the squad or do some of the guys think its an easy ride with him.

It's the inconsistency that cracks me up with our performances. Some of Rizas decision making with subs is odd and perhaps that doesn't help with consistency.

I remain very concerned because ultimately he's a coach and very inexperienced as a man manager, whilst we're battling for our lives.

I agree that too many managerial changes are destabilising and disruptive but we're not the only trigger happy club out there this season.

Hope our luck hasn't run out.
