Riza on the touchline

Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:23 pm

Two of the last three games have been some of our three worst performances of the season.

7-0 at Leeds and comfortably beaten tonight, despite it only being 2-1.

Won on penalties on Saturday and it wasn't a bad performance, but we did struggle at times in the first half.

Any coincidence that Riza has been banned from the touchline for those games?

He's back on Saturday so hopefully the performances get closer to where they were before, when we were nine unbeaten.

I just think he lacks in everything a struggling championship team needs. I said if he was given the job we would get relegated, nothing has changed my mind. By the way, that was pompeys first win in five games tonight.

But best scorers in bottom 6 or so plus got an excellent home record... but we gave them the advantage before we kicked off with team selection.

Not sure and certainly don't think dismissing it like you have there is right.

His job was to keep us up, nothing more.

We're not in the bottom three.

If you want Purse in charge, keep calling for Riza to go.

That’s quite sad we had only played 6 games and Riza was here from the Start, unbelievable we are going through a whole season and that’s our ambition to just stay up, Shocking.

That’s shows our ambition and his.

We were rock bottom when he took over, with one point.

Now we are out of the bottom 3 and went unbeaten in January.

Just because he was here at the start of the season doesn’t mean anything. Bulut was in charge at that point and whatever Bulut wanted, he would go with.

Can’t just over rule what your boss is saying, no matter how much people want to pin it all on Riza.

After the start of the season, we were always going to be in a relegation fight.

When he got the job, a lot of people (me included) said he would have done well if he keeps us up.

Well he's on course to do that.

Avoiding relegation is all he was promoted to the top job to do. I also wish the club would be more ambitious but they're not.

Replacing him now would just cause more problems and actually make us more likely to get relegated.

There was an infuriating image at about 80 odd mins on Tuesday when the camera was on Purse and he was laughing his head off.

Anyone else catch that? Little things like that get on my tits.

Purse in charge ? Nonsense, if Tan wanted purse he would of done it when Bulut went , do you think 3 wins in 18 is acceptable? .

I'm pleased we've only lost two of the last eleven.

That winds me up too. Purse = half witted buffoon. The team were losing a crucial relegation scrap - I know for a fact I'd be passionate and demonstrative on the touch line, nothing remotely funny about the circumstances.

This is not a time to show the players you're relaxed about our situation. If you're winning 3-0 with 10 minutes to go, I could accept a smile.

Agreed. Polar opposite to him as a player. He was a savage.
