A £4m deal is very close for Charlie Austin! And a loan deal is close for Cameron Jerome!

I don't know how true they are if at all close. Just posting what I was told!

Snaffling Charlie Austin would not only give us a great chance to win the title, it would also show intent for the top flight. Austin will be a premier league player in August. Hopefully it'll be with us. He's in the Lambert/Holt mould of scoring whatever division he's in

You're right regarding the game against us, he was was well dealt with by our defenders that day, but he would undoubtedly score goals if he played for us.

In fairness signing him didnt really exctite me either, but if you look at his goal scoring record then it very very good so I think he would score goals in the Prem also same as Danny graham holt and lambert like city gent pointed out, he's a natural goalscorer they are hard to come by

I would be really excited if we signed Charlie Austin, it would really state our ambition. Our style of play is very physical and with the service we have, we could really benefit from the physical presence of Austin, he knows where the goal is.

stoke turned down a 3.5 million bid for jerome over the weekend so hardly likely to send him out on loan to us

We were prepared to pay 6.5m for Rodriguez if I'm right? Why not offer 4 million up front and then add in bonuses say we get promoted etc.
