So you think he's bought 40% of the club for £6m and pay £135m for the remaining 60% when he can just pay £8m? :?

And he gains what exactly!

Won't matter if we are bigger than Man City in a couple of years. If that doesn't happen it might be an issue.

Tan will never get any of that back if he walks away - who can afford to pay him back?

He'll try and pay off Langston, whilst then taking full ownership resulting in him turning the debt into equity

Whats the point in him doing that at the moment, with Langston still sniffing around?

If Tan wasnt as wealthy, I might then have a concern that we are spending money that we cant afford. But he knows that if he walked away, he wouldnt get a penny back from his investment

It's not a serious statement, just demonstrating how out of the real world some of our fans are who think that our debt level is ok.

How will he profit from staying? The ccfc company loses £25m per annum.

Income will increase on promotion but so will expenditure at a similar rate.

The only way of profiting is staying in the Premier League, attracting new investment, sponsorship's etc

Investment means loans. Why would tan want to loan money on behalf from a third party? That won't make him a profit, probably the opposite.

Sponsorship yes, but that is involved in the projected figure of newly promoted clubs and as said the increased income is offset by the increased expenditure.

It's still owned by the club.

That's like saying I don't own my house, my bank do.

Fool.

You don't own your house. You have put a deposit on it and are paying it monthly (judging from your response) when it's paid for - you will own it. Until then miss payments at it will be repossessed. Why? Because it ain't yours.

You're right if you look at the facts, but you're just being pedantic to cause a disagreement.

Still amazed that you claim to be a Cardiff fan, yet always write about how wonderful Swansea are and never anything good about Cardiff..

Re: £135 million in debt

I was working in a garage just outside swansea about 3 years back, the owner spotted the Bluebird tattoo on my arm and said to the bloke near him, Cardiff fan in here, the bloke was a swansea fan he stated to me that he"knew" we were about to go bust, in fact he even went so far as to say he "knew" it would happen in 2 weeks, well I'm still waiting. I honestly believe that to sort the worlds debt, the governments of the planet take a trip to west wales because there seem to be thousands of financial experts in that part of the world.

Has he claimed to be a city fan??

I honestly assumed he was a peg seller

Re: £135 million in debt

Sun Jan 20, 2013 5:26 pm

It's not pedantic at all. Cardiff do not own their stadium, not by a long chalk. I doubt the interest has even been paid on it let alone the actual figure. The fact that the club may be in £135m debt suggests the prospect of ever owning the stadium is probably more unlikely than likely.
