NEARLY TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP

Mon Jan 21, 2013 10:17 pm

Season ticket renewals ... I'v seen it on countless threads " Can't believe how easy our fans have rolled over on the rebrand"
Well nows the time to put up or shut up :!: We will not be playing in blue next season. So If we care that much about the colour we won't be renewing our season tickets will we ? forget petitions here's the opportunity you been crying out for to show the club how you feel.

I know, some of the regulars on here who have sworn not to put a penny in hiss pocket unless we return to blue, should be a few casualties if they stand by their statements.

Good post. Forget the petitions, 'bluebird' days, etc. It will be very interesting to see how many don't renew their season tickets to watch us in red with a 'beer mat' for a badge next season.

Not been down once this season and won't be getting a season ticket so have already put up, won't be able to shut up about something I feel so passionately about I am afraid. Here's hoping I can one day let it go, something that has been my life for 20 odd years is kind of hard to forget though.

Elyboy i would imagine a few thousand City fans will be grateful to you giving them the opportunity to purchase a ST themselves on the basis of one more to go around although quite a few will be disappointed as their are nowhere near enough ST to please the thousands of new fans coming through the turnstiles as City cruise to the Premiership. :malky:

Don't cut your nose off, to spite your face lads, I applaud you for sticking buy what you have said, but in this case its not going to get you anywhere, its like the old saying, you might miss the pub but the pub won't miss you.

Hope you can move Simon. I don't think you will recognise the fan base if you came back.

Get a group together dicey you can lead it im sure many will go along with it including me as long as it does not involve burning malaysians flags and tossing smoke bombs on the pitch during game time or doing whatever action we feel necessary during game time. Thats what the last load of dribble involved that died before it started. :ayatollah:

So long as we are called Cardiff and we remain in Cardiff that's good enough for me

Giving up city, is giving up a bit of freedom, its giving up an experience, and its like giving up on your family.
Match day is more than just supporting your team, its a reoccurring life event that is not be taken away from me under the above terms.

Cheers mate, yeah I've come to the conclusion I'll be clubless for however long it takes.

What annoys me is people who think this has been an easy choice, believe me I've tried to come to terms with it. My divorce wasn't half as painful as this trust me ha ha

If we go up any protest will count for nowt, that is the sobering truth. It's a total travesty but if we do not renew our ST's they will be snapped up.

There are one thousand extra ST's come 1st March and they will be gone in hours if we are still on track for promotion, anymore that become available due to non renewal will also follow suit.

Sad but true. The club will not lose out so will not be concerned.

I'm 100% against the rebrand but I'll always support Cardiff City.

Re: NEARLY TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP

Its difficult when you take the kids down, all they see is a team at the top of the league, they see their friends in Red shirts, they dont remember the 70's, 80's like I do, so their Cardiff City is what they see now. I personally hate the rebrand and I really cant see the point of it - it appears to be the thoughts of 1 man!! We have lost our identity in my opinion, it was bad enough when Ninian Park went (I loved that place) now I sit there and wonder what im actually watching. Yes of course its still Cardiff City - it just doesent feel the same any more.

do you think it matters loads of people i know who havnt been in years want season tickets for next year

Find it a real shame that City are going to lose people who have supported them for along time. Would rather be playing in blue, but still going to games and supporting the team.

Re: NEARLY TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP

like Ely boy, I haven't been down once this season!

I have instead put all my time and money into setting up my business and buying my first house... so for me, other priorities have taken over.

Part of me wishes I was on the bandwagon, but I'm still disillusioned with the whole thing. I don't bother entering the constant debates because as far as I can see, whats the point?

So in the mean time, I'll just carry on going about my business and spend my hard earned money on something which will provide a bit of structure and stability (hopefully!!) for myself.

Once all the hype has died down and the new (plastic) fans fade away as results dont go our way (which is inevitable), fans who share similar sentiments on the subject as I do may mellow and look at a return but until then... enjoy :ayatollah:

I agree with your sentiments, but why are new fans, plastic? If they are local and not sitting in an armchair they should be treated just a little bit better.

I think you mis intepreted my post m8 . I support the club not the colour.

I was simply saying that If fans feel that strongly about the colour / badge then they have a good opprtunity to put two fingers up to the club and tell them where to stick their season ticket .
I suspect thou, when it comes down to the hard yards, most will relise that the Premiership and the stability of the club poos all over a change of colour. Folk are welcome to prove me wrong thou.

ok, maybe not the correct term... but the point im trying to make is there will be an almost certain influx of glory hunters who follow premiership and not a team. Our home end will have opposing fans in there... just like last years cup final.

On that I agree. If they are there for the Premeir League and not Cardiff City I hope they get bored quickly and get back to their armchairs.

Good post Dicey. I agree with your post. Either you support Cardiff City with a new vision or you don't. If you don't, don't buy a season ticket and do the honourable thing like TLG.

Eventually we will end up back Blue at home, come back and support us then.

For those of you staying with me.

Playing in Red in the premier league for the same price????

Almost everyone will take that 99% with most of the 1% natural wastage such as death, losing jobs, moving away, too skint etc

All the ones boycotting won't have renewed last season will they, like TLG.....

I think quite a few might just have one more season in the premier, then pack in, this was discussed on Mikes board....

Really riles me that people say to me, Oh you'll go back when they are in the Premiership. This is going against the whole point of my protest in the first place, "I NEVER SUPPORTED CARDIFF CITY PURELY FOR SUCCESS! SUCCESS WAS NEVER AN OPTION".

So why the hell would I turn into a glory hunter for one season when I have protested against the very principle of glory hunting since our club was ripped apart by greed.

I totally respect your feelings Ely Boy

I was gutted when the Blue disappeared. Angry, upset and disillusioned.

I support Cardiff in the rain, the cold, when they play rubbish and when there are glimpses of brilliance.

I'll support them if they play in pyjamas. They're our players doing the best with what they've got. Owners will come and go.

The new kids who come to the matches won't know anything other than red but in time some of them will begin to love the club and all it stands for.

What we have now will become their history.

I'm gutted that fans like you are not still part of our club
