What was your favourite area of Ninian Park....

Thu Jan 31, 2013 10:33 pm

For me,

I was a ballboy behind the goal of the grange end for six yrs before I moved away but before that always with my dad in the family enclosure in front of the grandstand when city were attacking the grange end, and then the opposite half we would go in the canton end behind the goal.

Bounced in the grange end a few times more recently before she closed but what memories, great memories. :ayatollah:

If only we could recreate the Grange End special atmosphere in the C.C.S. :ayatollah:

Those were the days. The 82-83 season and 83-84 i was in family enclosure/canton stand depending on which way we were attacking. The following 2 seasons i had a season ticket in centre grandstand. After that it was mostly the bob bank terrace until the bob bank was seated. Floated between areas for long time -had season tickets in canton stand and lower grandstand grange end area.

Best atmospheres were Leeds in Cup (I was on Grange), Chelsea in Milk Cup (Block C Grandstand)

The shitty benches in the Canton Stand with the executive box reserved for Allied Steel and Wire. All the lads used to sneak in without paying. Happy days :ayatollah:

I also trained on the pitch once as part of Alan Durban's soccer school in the Easter of 1985. :ayatollah:

Bob bank terrace on a freezing Tuesday night in the piss pouring rain!

Over the years I tried every area in the ground Grandstand Enclosure Canton Stand, Bob Bank sitting and standing and of course the Grange End.

I suppose my favourite in the seventies was the Canton Stand, where I had a seat behind the goals in the middle with a view just above the cross bar and in latter years the Bob Bank. :ayatollah:

You'd be better off going down the Liberty, there's plenty of bellends down there. :laughing6:

Bob Bank Terrace :ayatollah:

In the last season we regularly filled it, and when it was filled it was unbelievable. All cramming onto a massive chunk of concrete with a good atmosphere. It would be great if the Ninian was anything like the Bob Bank :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The Grange end when it was half wood half concrete in the sixties, a massive end ,when they knocked it down NP never seemed the same to me again.

Block A without a doubt closely followed by the Grange

When I was a nipper I used to sit besides the tunnel behind Eddie May and co.
I can always remember listening to Tina singing Simply the best, looking across the pitch and waiting until you could see the bob bank rise to its feet then you knew it was game time.

But as a teenager I was a regular in the lower grandstand grange end, A certain FA cup game gives me my fondest Memory.

The grange end before they ripped the roof off and terraced it. Had to walk under it to go get bovril and pastie in Bob Bank and had to watch out for people pissing above and dripping through ha ha ha ha ha The good old days
