I'm debating it, programme starts at 2 ..was hoping it would be earlier... tough fight for rees, i think he'll lose on points, hes got a tough chin

If it goes the distance he probably won't get the nod ,I think if he can pressure fight him and take broner out of his comfort zone he may have a punchers chance.however broner does fight well on the back foot as well.

I backed Rees at 16/1 in dec when it was announced.
And got a 33/1 for KO.

Not big stakes like but I agree with you on what bookies are suggesting.

yes and I cannot wait :ayatollah: I really got a feeling rees can pull of the upset and he deserves a lot more of a chance than the bookies are giving, the rock to go out on his shield if he loses :ayatollah: I hope this is another case of calzaghe v lacy situation, rees is no calzaghe btw but hes a seasoned old pro and broner is the new superstar but could be exposed as a flash in the pan.

rees for KO! :ayatollah:

COME ON THE ROCK!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

rees has to go for the knockout. early on. if the fight drags on, around 8 rounds, broner will just slowly pick him off, and turn him out. rees has got strong hands, steps in brilliantly with a strong jab, and can add on that with some powerfull hooks, might be best bet to work on broners body early, do some damage, might slow the guy down

Hope you give the bookies a hiding mate, very disrespectful for an ex world champ, europeon ,British ect. Let's hope he shocks the boxing world and becomes a two weight champion.

Broner will KO Rees. It will be a walk in the park for Broner. He's cocky but he can back it up. He's becoming what Mayweather wants. Another cocky fighter that can bring big money fights to the table, all mouth but delivering the job, so Money Promotions can cash in. He knows he's not going to box forever so need a younger fighter with real raw talent to step in and keep lining his pocket.

Totally agree mate they billed lacy up to be superman but it was probably calzaghes easiest defence as well as his defining fight,I had a bet on him at the time at 10/11 odds(only time ever joe came in as the underdog ), but the odds the bookies are giving on Rees is the highest I've seen on a boxing bout.

i wouldnt say its disrespectful, anyone who's seen broner fight will know why the odds are heavily stacked against rees's. hes a younger mayweather, hes very quicky, powerfull, sharpe, great reflexes, hes undefeated.

Agree broners a class act, though 80-1 in America for Rees to win ,it's still a two horse race and Rees isn't a road sweeper he's a seasoned pro who's an ex world champ at a heavier weight,I'm hoping he proves us all wrong oh and the bookies

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Rees is going to get knocked the f**k out as they say, one punch lucky one is about all he might win it on IMO, hence the bookies at silly odds for him to win vs this much quicker harder fighter than what hes used to, rees trying way above what he can i think but no harm in trying. :malky:

Gavin blew it in the press conference. Should never have called the prick a prick!!!

His punchers chance just got that little bit less likely. Broner genuinely didnt know
who Rees was. That is shocking disrespect, terrible over-confidence. But when Gav
said "I cant wait to knock this prick out".... He gave him a big wake up call. That
first round is going to be torrid for Rees now. I know he's got a great chin but
Broner is a brilliant two-handed fighter and I can only see pain, and perhaps 3 rounds

Are some of you people mad?? Hahaha. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing rees knock that tw*t out BUT its never ever gonna happen. Broner is absolutely superb and will be the star of boxing in a couple of years. He will toy with rees and finish it whenever he wants. People saying rees has a punchers chance, u can't have seen broners defence and reflexes. Nothing rees can do will bother broner. I'd LOVE to be proved wrong but I'm so confident its not gonna happen, I'll happily give my season ticket for next year to the OP if rees wins hahahaha

For arguments sake if it turns into a war ,IMO one fighter has been there before and has had to dig deep, the other Hasn't and has everyone telling him how great he is and patting/combing his head, could be interesting I'll always back the welsh fighter no matter how odds are stacked against them could be a great night for welsh sport if Rees wins #andthenew

I'll back the Welsh lad 100%

But its going to be pain out there.

Broner may be a flash fucker, but he backs it up and then some!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 9:45 pm

experience could be key here, broner is just another American dubbed the next big thing but onces he loses they will dump him and will go in the wilderness just like jeff lacy, broner looks good and is a talent BUT id pick experience any day of the week whos been there done it all, rees will surprise a few tonight win or lose and he will make broner work hard.

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Maybe rees took the fight for a decent pay day and a chance to have one last crack at a title..
Hope rees wins but from what i read hes out of his depth

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 10:04 pm

i really think rees as got a chance! broner thinks hes in the for the easiest fight of is life, hes in for a big shock!

rees really tough fighter, fast powerful and really good work rate and confident he can win the fight!

very underrated with a good record

its gonna be a cracker cant wait!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 10:04 pm

Its baffling me here how so many people are giving rees even the slightest chance. It will be a sparring session for broner and it will go as long as broner wants it to! I hope I'm wrong but I'm not going to be on this one. I'm sure of it!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:27 pm

80-1 hope its a case of the yanks bigging their man up as usual but from what i've seen of Broner the rock is in for a hard night and i'm off to bed!!! i'll check the result out on sky sports in the morning!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:31 pm

Heart says rees on points, head says broner is going to grind him down and stop him. Would love and upset to wipe the smirk off the dumb cocky tw*t

Nobody thought lloyd honeyghan would beat donald curry. It can be done!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sat Feb 16, 2013 11:56 pm

baffles me why everyone is so sure rees will be stopped? he has NEVER been stopped, broner besides de marco and de leon hes fought nobody that could suggest rees will be even easier, broners been bigged up and blown up massive, if rees can bully his way into getting close to broner hes got a great chance!

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sun Feb 17, 2013 12:04 am

Yes he has been stopped. He lost his world title by 12th round stoppage to kotelnik. A very average kotelnik at that! Rees is a good european to low world level fighter. He's fighting an elite fighter here and I'm sorry to say he has no chance at all

Re: Gavin Rees v broner boxing

Sun Feb 17, 2013 12:07 am

Also de marco and the ponce de leon of a few years ago are better fighters than rees and broner dismantled them. All the best to rees, great pay day for him and I'd love him to do it but the fight will go however broner wants it

my bad you are right forgot about getting stopped last round kotelink
