Cardiff City's bid for Jose Fonte of £3.25mill to Southampton has been Rejected, it was Cardiff's 2nd bid for Fonte,they are expected to increase their offer,Southampton say they want £5mill for him.

I agree. dont waste 10 days bidding 3.5, 3.75,4.0, 4.25 etc giving someone else a chance. Caulker is gone so we need a decent CB badly

Argument isn't wrong, buts it's so often disrailing threads. Ccfc should have is main home colour blue, but has nothing to do with this

I would be very surprised if he dropped down to the championship. Even if he find turn now a new offer from Southampton the sensible thing he would do would be to run his contract down surely

I agree but the problem is club haven't actually made any money on sales.
The Medel inter sale is a joke. Frazier went for pocket change and they just got their money back on Chaulker.
Add the debt and tan keeping it on a tight leash because of last year overspending in the transfer market.

Where do you get this reserve defender crap from. He is worth every penny of £5m. Find another premiership quality defender for that kind of money.

surely there is better value than £5m for a player who by all accounts southampton are happy to let go provide we pay over the odds as you think we should.

maybe not a reserve, but not worth £5m. for that money we could get 3 centre backs who could be good enough. we sold caulker for £8.5m for crying out loud.

You could get 3 average championship defenders for £5m. How is that going to get us up to the premiership and keep us there. Quality over quantity!

Not sure where you got the 'reserve' from. I read somewhere that he played around 38 games last season!
Mind you, at 5mill there's not a lot of sell on value as he's 30 I believe.
