Rise and Fall of the Valley Rams(SUPPORT Big Gwyn Davies)

Sun Jun 06, 2010 4:57 pm

Started reading at one o'clock today and finished about an hour ago (says it all really), an excellent read and what I liked the most was the Authors honesty, he could have "Bigged" Cardiff and the fans up as Invincible, butter wouldn't melt etc, but just told it as it was, I don't envy him for organising all those coaches and dealing with some of the bullshit that went on though
The only negative for me was that I didn't wan't the book to end!
A big thankyou and congratulations to Gwyn for writing this insightful book. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

And thank you very much for your comments, its a shame our new CEO doesn't feel the same way, he wont stock the book in the club shop because he thinks it glorifies hooliganism, DUH.

Hello Gwyn, I can't for the life of me understand why the C.E.O thinks this book glorifies hooliganism (obviously he never took the time to have a read) or I must have been reading a different book altogether, and concerning the club shop not selling your book, It begs the question, do the marketing people at the club have any clue?? can't they see the woods through the trees?
I thought that Gethin should be given a chance, but after this and Annis saying about this sit down etc policy, then I have to ask is there some sort of hidden agenda going on??? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Marc, he took one look of the cover of Gwyns Book and said we have to move on from these sort of people.

Gutted the RAMS dont run anymore, always a quality trip.

I could understand them not having the Soul Crew books in the shops but the RAMS were not a hooligan group, just a good group of lads who loved football.

I would never ask them to have a soul crew book in the shop.

Already in the group :ayatollah:

I would never ask them to have a soul crew book in the shop.

Yeah thats what I mean though... they are suggesting the RAMS are a bunch of hooligans which was not really the case

So our new CEO doesn't want the type of person who take a proactive stance against our clubs reputation being taken into the gutter............makes sense :-S I read the book and it was fantastic, not only because when I was sat along the Clyde on my lunch hour at work reading it a really hot girl stopped and asked me what I was reading, lol, but because it's written by someone who is onest enough to know there was a problem, and was trying to provide a solution.

Im worried now about who we have on our board and he's only been there a few weeks.

If he carrys on doing this, the next book will be "The 4 weeks of Gethin Jenkins"...

Gethin, Take the Valley's out of the City, and you will have a loss of atleast 80% revenue. We've kept this club running when it was down with the dogs, not you, you're just employed. We're the people who matter and know what is right for this club.
