' NO HOPE '

There is no hope for this team with Paul Trollope in charge.

I have seen virtually every game so far this season and will be at Burton on Saturday but that performance tonight was the worst of the lot.

I do not see Trollope turning this around and in my opinion it is as simple and basic as that, he just can't get this team set up correctly and I am even believing that he has not got the support of the dressing room based on many individual performances over several games.

The vast majority of the players look devoid of ideas and they don't seem to know the best way to get the most out of the system that Trollope employs in any game.

Sad to say after such a short space of time but I can't see how Trollope can hang on to the job, something use change and soon.

Everything is so slow and ponderous, sideways, backwards, clueless!

Re: ' NO HOPE '

Carl, I've never lost faith in a manager so quickly I don't think.

Players starting to disagree with each other on the pitch said it all. Moral in the camp is not good, and these are a group of players playing for themselves, not the team, and certainly not their manager.

Someone needs to come in and pull them all together, and quick.

It is a complete dereliction of duty if the club allow him to continue. He should be sacked with immediate effect to allow a new manager the international break. He does not deserve any further time or support after tonight.

All the signs are he has lost the dressing room
He has also lost his way in the style of play
Warwick please

Me neither but for me some small things stood out a mile. Disaster appointment, get rid asap.

He's got to go right now!!! The last 3 managerial appointments by the club have been awful and we now need an experienced man that has done it at this level to save our season  :(

Re: ' NO HOPE '

I will always give a manager a chance and my backing whilst he's in charge but after tonight I really am at breaking point. It was nothing short of awful, we looked confused and completely out of ideas. We need someone with experience and a backbone that will take this squad by the scruff of the neck and get the most of them. Forget trying to follow "The Wales way" it's a unique formation for a unique set of players. There are plenty of games left in the season to still turn it around and not be drawn into a season long relegation battle but unfortunately not with Trollope in charge.

I agree with Carl. I've seen most games and tonight was rock bottom. It looks like we've now gone backwards from the season start when we were creating chances but not converting. Now we are back in the place where we are too nervous going forward and playing backwards at times again.

I'm desperate to see PT succeed but Saturdays win was papering over the cracks and it's now fair to say he's been given adequate time with a squad that he already knew under RS. The loss of confidence on the pitch is a reflection and result of how the team is currently being managed. We need a proven manager and we now need it fast. Don't have an issue with PT as a coach but that squad needs man management to get them performing at the level that they are capable of.

Absolutely awful. No quality out there, as you said, no hope!

Re: ' NO HOPE '

Tue Sep 27, 2016 10:25 pm

This was the worst of the season for me
No ideas no method and the players not even knowing what to do with the ball
Derby were lacking in confidence but because we were so poor they suddenly realised how easy it was when they attacked us
They could have easy have scored more goals
For city not to have scored at home this season is deplorable
We have to get another manager in before the international break
Trollope will get us relegated this season
I thought Durban was bad and I wasn't keen on Slade
This guy Trollope makes them two look like world beaters
To have already lost 6 games so early in the season is unbelievable
So Trolly go and get a tram goodbye and take Lenny with you

Re: ' NO HOPE '

Even when we attack on the break it includes ten sideways passes.

What's the story from the club? Surely they can see what everyone else can - that we have no hope!

I couldn't face the 270 mile round trip tonight so listened on the radio - even Jason Perry who can normally find something positive out of nothing was completely aghast.

As someone says later in this thread - Trollope had a head start as he's been working with this squad, so to be in this position is scandalous. I've thought for a few weeks that the players look lost and possibly aren't playing for him and it seems to be getting worse.

The club need to act now and make an appointment with someone proven at this level - Warnock is the man for me to a) get this squad into shape and b) get the fans stirred up a between and during games.

I went to Preston, but tonight was worse. Sorry to say, but without a change of management we are going down. In fact, we could be relegated by March at this rate. Can't have been much preparation over the summer, what with Trollope being in France. Catching up with us now. We need a manager who knows this division, and who can sort this mess out. Our only objective now is to try and avoid relegation.

Re: ' NO HOPE '

Tue Sep 27, 2016 11:41 pm

At least Russell Slade brought the players together. I have no confidence in Trollope, he has to go. Players have lost the confidence.
At least we only three wins off play offs, so not all lost.

Re: ' NO HOPE '

I was told today that the players are claiming to be (quote) "Tired come match day" after multiple daily training sessions during the week and it may explain why we seem to fall apart during the second half of games!

This may be correct but all I know is that was one of the most abject performances by many in a blue shirt for some time and this squad now have the dubious honour of being the first City team to lose 3 home games on a row since 2007/08

He did have a head start and new the squad inside out which is why his failure to address such issues of the lack of pace in the squad is criminal. Why sign Richards,Huws, Lambert when none of them are quick. I don't think Richards is a bad player but I even missed Malone last night as at least he would carry the ball forward. Richards to me is a defensive full back, similar to Peltier. Why sign Huws if he is not going to play him as we had lots of similar center midfielders? Its just appalling at the moment.

Tactically we are dreadful as it seems we play a deep counter attacking style with no pace to counter attack. Without the ball we are passive and allow teams to dictate play with little or no pressure on the ball. With no pace surely we need to play higher up the pitch and try and win the ball back to compensate. Ridiculous.

One of the saddest parts of Trollope and Slades times as manager is I can't see any players that have improved under their coaching. DJ would often bring the best out of underachieving players and Hudson, Marshall, Gunnarsson all seemed to improve with time under Malky. Players like Ralls, Noone, Gunnar have deteriorated badly under his coaching and I can't think of one who you could say has improved. That is criminal

Scott Malone was very unfairly criticised. I wish he was still here.

That sounds very plausible. They certainly don't have any go in them. Four home games we've lost now, after being 0-0 at half time. Under Slade we often got wins from that situation. The football may not have been brilliant, but it was better than this! What is this 'performance' bloke supposed to be doing? Quite a few injuries, for early in the season.

Left the game last feeling really disappointed.

Once Lambert was taken off we offered nothing until Harris cam on and then it was far too late.

Can take no more of Trollope and feel he now has to go.

As someone else has mentioned it look a team of individuals with no guidance.

No Plan A never mind a Plan B.

Need an experienced manager - personally I would give Warnock a chance :bluescarf:

If it's a few more quid to hire a experienced manager that could make more financial sense than dropping down to league one FFS :?:

I don't go to games as I have stated before but I listen to the radio etc, and one thing I will say is that with this set of players, City should be nowhere near the bottom of the table.

Are the players to blame ? I am all for giving PT time but I think its time for him to go and somebody else to kick this lots backside as its not good enough.

I don't have a season ticket thank goodness, I'm pay-as-you-go. But after that hopeless display last night I doubt I'll throw any more money down the drain. It reminded of the bad old days when our entire strike force consisted of Derek Showers and we were easy meat for most teams.

If I am being honest I do not think Jesus Christ could resurrect this rabble. There is a cancer at CCFC and its at ownership, board and managerial level. This is merely reflected on the pitch by a motley band of overpaid buffoons who plainly would rather be anywhere than on a football pitch with a bluebird on their tit !
