It looks 60-40 that we might loose Dave Jones as I have heard Fulham dont see his wages as a problem, But he was only No 3 on their list and if Erikson is willing to except half the wages he has asked Fulham for, then they wont want Jones.
Honest Opinions, DO YOU WANT DAVE JONES TO STAY (£760,000 approx a year Basic wage) ?
You All know mine, which I have maintained for the last 5 years and I also believe he fell out (yet again)with a number of Our players whilst they were in Portugal.

no he can go, i think we can save a lot of money, and unite the players again after he has gone
Fri Jul 23, 2010 3:54 pm
hopefully he goes.......

If JOnes does go, it will only add to the trouble that we are already in. I wouldnt blame Jones if he decided to go, look at the state of our club, its a shambles at the moment....During this delicate position we find ourselves in, stability will be key... What manager would want to manage us, whilst we are under a transfer embargo and all this debt?
Fri Jul 23, 2010 3:56 pm
Who can blame him if he goes, its possibly a good thing if he went and took the likes of Chopra & Jay with him. Under different circumstances Id love him to stay but we need to get the club back on an even keel and reality. Having said all that who would want to come to Cardiff under the current regime and all the uncertainly it brings, its a club that cant even guarantee that you'll be paid and as we all know players & managers throughout the football industry talk to each other.... Its a club anyone with any sense would avoid like the plague.

I think that's a really tough one to answer Annis,
On one hand you are right that the wages he's having are huge in comparison to most championship clubs but there again if we had a quality manager to replace him then his demands would surely be similar. He's got us knocking on the door for the last couple of seasons but come up short each time so i understand that there would be a few wanting him to leave but then again if at the start of each season i was told that we'd be knocking that door i'd have took it....just like i will again at the start of this season and i think most would agree with that. I don't think anyone can deny that DJ is about the best there is on a low budget but i don't think anyone could deny that tactically he comes up short from time to time.
In short i'll sit on the fence for this one but if he's replaced i hope it's with somebody with experience and good tactical awareness.

In my opinion it would be a disaster if he went now, more than ever.
If we do have to sell a load of players or even a few I have full faith in him keeping the club going by rebuilding and working with a very slim line squad. His wage is very high, to high but this season IMO he would be worth it.
Also I dont see ccfc as an attractive option for other manager to want to take over. We have no money, not looking like getting anymoney and under a transfer embargo with no signs of that changing.
I will be gutted if he leaves now but would not blame him.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:21 pm
I don't think he would really want to go if at all possible - his family have settled well into the area, as has DJ himself. He has had opportunities before to leave but seems to want to stick it out.
I think family are more important to him than money at this stage of his career and I don't think commuting to london would be number one on his list of things he wants to do. He stuck at wolves despite extreme pressure, failing at first to get promotion, until he got the job done.
no-one could blame him if he went in the present circumstances, but I would like him to stay.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:28 pm
I think the last thing we need now is a change of manager, and who in their right mind would take his job given the shit we are in at the moment. Relegation a distinct possibility for next season if this happens.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:30 pm
if jones does go are our current board capable of finding us a decent manager?
Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:32 pm
dave jones has lost the respect of certain players!!
i just dont like the aragonce he portrays in the media, nothing is ever his fault, and he doesnt like us fans.
i have never liked him, and would be very happy to see him go.....my opinion

DJmisery bonzo wants out and his agent is putting his name about for every single job, sooner or later he will land one, sooner rather than later much to my joy and of many others.

Go go go go go go go.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 4:51 pm
unless he is 100% commited to cardiff i dont see the point of him being here
Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:16 pm
I'd prefer him to stay. I like his style and while he's made bad decisions, so has Alexx Ferguson. We all do it. With everything going on we need someone to try and keep everyone together. Chopra's outburst doesn't help matters either. The players may be upset with what's going on but the last thing we need is the whole world to see things are falling apart behind the scenes. We need a united front as we combat the turmoil the club is in. There is no quick fixes, we should all know that by now.
On Jones' wage. On the one hand alot of folk have said fair play to Ledley to going elsewhere to make more money. Jones was the same when he was offerd a contract with City. The blame lies firmly at the door of those who appointed him, not DJ himself.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:16 pm
Please Mr Jones make my day by leaving.

I wont offer my opinion (as you are well aware of it) but realistically would anybody want the job given the state of the club? which cant be good with two weeks til the new season
Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:34 pm
Due to the timing Jones leaving now wouldn't be ideal, but on the other hand his management is starting to look a bit stale and change wouldn't be a total disaster
Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:53 pm
The last thing we need is to lose our manager at a time when we cant afford to pay any creditors or the majority of our bills. So no know is not the time for DJ to leave.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:57 pm
my hunch is if they continue to do well in pre season, ray lewington will be asked to carry on as manager.
look at hughton at newcastle understudy to quite a few managers but came up trumps on his own.
from our point of view 18k wages for DJ AND CHOPS a lot of money.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 6:04 pm
I want him to stay.

Surely if dj goes we'd get compensation of 1 year salary (800k). That would pay motherwell and charlton off plus leave a bit left over for another creditor.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 7:32 pm
Would like him to go. He's on a huge wage and think it's time for a change. He never seems to take the blame when things go wrong and has no rapport with the fans.
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:00 pm
In a way i feel for DJ because yet again he is unable to sign the players he wants so far, having said that some of his previous signings have been shocking and we know who they are, but he has also found a few gems in his time to.
It seems inevitable that if Fulham make an approach then DJ will go, will i be gutted about his departure the answer is no purely because the man has no plan B and as already mentioned has no rapport with the fans and does tend to fall out with his own players on occasions.
Also his wages are the highest in the league, and at this time we could do with a manager on a lesser wage.

There is always some one out there, but I can tell you now Sack, Jones does not and I am not a fan of his,but I dont blame him.

Quote "but realistically would anybody want the job given the state of the club?"
There’s plenty of out of work managers and would be managers.
Getting the right one would be the problem.
The problem with DJ is can he lift the players.
I've got my doubts
Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:15 pm
Wouldnt hold it against him if he went to fulham, nor would i care tbh i personally think the club needs new blood in the managers position and have done for the last 3 yrs. Someone with passion a fire in his belly, a desire to succeed and above all a personality and loyalty to the fans that keep the club alive. not some fat scouser who looks down his nose at the fans.

Keep him he is the best we can get easily...........
If you want to save on wages get rid of players, he has made us a fortune in buying players cheaply and selling at a profit, can anyone name a realistic alternative on less cash?????
No I thought not.............
