Spot on. I loved Ninian but for us to move forward as a club, we had to have a new stadium. I love the new stadium. Just dissapointed about the atmosphere.

I agree Rob.. It is us fans that make the atmosphere, It's just the way they have the stadium layed out with the seating plan that I feel lets it down.. A lot of the Bob Bank/Grange end boys are nowhere near the away fans which used to bring on the songs a lot more..

But like I said, I 100% agree with you that us, the fans, need to stand up to the challenge and bring back the old intimidating atmosphere we seem to have left at Ninian :ayatollah:

So you're having a go at Ridsdale for giving us a stadium? Even though it was Sam's idea originally?

The only thing I don't like is the family stand next to the away fans. The canton and grange should swap.

Totally agree. i love taking my kids into the family stand and I like the way they have made it its own concourse as well. It makes it a safe place for someone with a young family like I have. I am not comfortable though when I have to sit next to the away fans with my girls.

They should swop the Canton for the Grange but also give the Canton a separated concourse from the Ninian. I feel this is the real reason why they wont do it.

I havnt been in the family stand, but it sounds a cracker. Very good work by the club. But if the sides swapped, I think there would be a better atmosphere.

Re: stadium

The stadium has done F*** all wrong. We had kids wearing the "clobber" at Ninian Park, yet you didn't complain then? Grow up and accept he fact we've moved on. The "Clobber" means nothing, it's just clothing. If you like something, wear it. If you don't, then don't buy it.

No one is asking you to go to the new stadium, so why complain when your there. It's the same team which play inside it, so accept it. Why bother complaining, you ain't going to get Ninian Park back. It's gone, it's now a Housing Estate, not a football stadium.

The history in our club has NOT gone, Ninian Park was NOT our history. It was a football ground. What has the history is the Football Club, what holds the honours is Cardiff City Football Club. Yes we played and beat Real Madrid at Ninian Park, and Leeds Utd... but it's now our chance to put that in the back of our minds, and start something fresh.

We've all been to the new stadium now, spent 23+ games there, we're all used to it. Now lets put in the effort and stop complaining about the stadium. It's ours, we ain't going to get the past back, so lets look towards the future and make things happen...

Excuse me, but people are allowed to miss Ninian Park. It was part of many people's growing up etc.
And is a great history of Cardiff City FC.
So I think saying 'grow up' is uncalled for.

Grow up about the clothes, not the stadium. It's just clothes, am I wrong or right? If someone wants to "pretend" to be a hooligun, let them pretend. My opinion. But the stadium has nothing to do with kids wearing "clobber", we had them at Ninian Park, we'll have them in 10 years time, 20 years time, or even 30 years time. What harm are they causing? Stone Island, Superdry, Fila, Adidas Classics, Lacoste, their all names, all clothing ranges. Just the same as Henley's, G-Star, Gio-Goi, Diesel, Animal, Nike, Reebok... A clothing range doesn't make a person anymore of a hooligun in my eyes. They paid for them, lets get on with it. :old:

There seems to be some ongoing confusion over this.

The reasons for the siting of the Family Stand where it is was a question specifically put to Gethin Jenkins by the Trust many weeks ago at the request of a couple of Trust members , and the answers posted up on the Trust website.Basically the main reasons were

1) moving a large number of CCFC fans who have a reputation for being a bit "confrontational" with travelling supporters to the opposite end of the ground allowed the club to agree with the police a policing policy which saves the club several hundred thousands of pounds a season.

2) all of the families using the family stand were surveyed in March this year as to whether they wished to stay where they are or swap to the other end of the ground. A large majority of people answered the survey and only 2 people said they wanted to move.

So basically , the police are far happier with the setup than the Ninian Park one , it saves the club lots of money and , perhaps most importantly , the overwhelming majority of families are in favour of it.

Both atmosphere and banter are brilliant to have Ben. Unfortunately , too many City fans over the years have been unable to keep it to that which has caused the club huge damage , both in terms of reputation and financial cost.

In over 48 years of being a fan and hardly missing a home game , I have shouted in support of the team and got excited as much as anyone. I have also enjoyed banter with fans of other clubs on a regular basis at away games and when I have lived in different parts of the country

.But I have never felt the need to translate that into throwing things at them or confronting them with violent intent through a fence or police line. The same applies to the vast majority of CCFC fans and even most of those who used to do it have grown out of it. The sooner everyone grows up in a similar way , the better off the club will be.

I think the club are gradually introducing a policy of having a family section in the away area as well , which will be closest to the home Family Stand.Together with the "buffer zone" which already exists , that should help minimise the problem
