NEWS OF EMBARGO, PLAYERS AND DISPENSATION

Thu Aug 05, 2010 8:26 pm

Today has been a very busy day for City. The money has been in place to pay Charlton and the HMRC this week, but I understand that that there has been ongoing discussions with the Taxman as to how much of the outstanding amount is required to be paid to lift the embargo.

If the discussions are positive then the football league will be satisfied enough to lift the embargo immediately, with regards to the special dispensation given to the club to sign 3 players was actually for the Burton cup match and not for the league fixture, but if the embargo is lifted tomorrow then that dispensation is not required.

We have told you for a few days that Lee Naylor, Andy Keough are targets of the Dave Jones and I have been told again tonight that these 2 will sign, if the embargo is lifted. Also another player I have been told will come in is Olofinjana of Hull City.

Dave Jones was working hard to bring in Sam Vokes all week but obviously missed out on him to Bristol City.

News about Jason Koumas is that he is not currently fit and wont be for another 7-10 days.

Another bit of news is Jonathan Meades is not as yet registered with the club and not eligible to play for us.

TG told me today that he is trying to come over this weekend for the game but was not sure if it was possible.

PMG are due a payment of £2million in September and it is fact that a new deal was written out between PMG and the Club after the EGM in May.

With regards to Ray Ranson he is due a payment of a similar amount and the deal with him is, I believe the following : if the club sell any player then Ray Ranson's company gets a percentage of that transfer fee until the debt to his company is paid off; If the club do not sell a player then Autumn 2010 the company will receive a lump sum to reduce the debt and I believe that will be September also.

The club is working very hard to get over these hurdles but I beleive that if they can rid themselves of the embargo, enabling players to be registered and other signed, once they deal with Ranson and Guy then the club will have a bit of breathing space between now and the end of the year at which time Langston have to be dealt with.

This Autumn will see money coming in from the League which will help so hopefully we can start to concentrate on the playing side of the club and not whats happening with creditors and the Taxman.

Interesting and the debt repayment things make sense. Seems that VT/TG are going to have to put up again in a few weeks. Problem is right now the money coming in is going to be just new loans replacing old.

Olofinjana looked a hel of a player when I saw him for Wolves against us. best player in their side that day.

Not sure why we'd go for keough. I thought he was a small striker when he played for Scunny - a replacement for Chops ? I wouldn't have though he was big and strong enough to be a targetman.

Carl, what about outgoing players? Chops and wittingham?

Also is keogh a loan? And for how long? ( season)?

Thanks

Thanks Carl, I have never been that impressed with Keough from what I have seen, but I haven't seen him much, but DJ's no fool and if he thinks he can do the job, he probably will.

How about Whitts and Chops ????? Roy Keene hinted he is about to get his man, so looks like it could be bye bye Chops

How about Harewood and King any news ??????

Cheers mate keep up the good work...........

olifinjana would be a hell of a signing Carl. Is he coming on loan or are we buying him? I was of the belief that he only signed for Hull last summer for £3 million. Surely they are not going to loan him to us, unless they are in deeper doo doo than us of course

Premiership have to cut their squad to 25, so if he does come to us it has to be a loan, good cover for Bothroyd, worrying we are after keogh as although 6ft. cannot see him as a target man and we already have to short strikers, unless one is going

I thought Keogh was a bit of a fans fav, a real worker and a bit of a target man? might be thinking of someone else tho.

Also if memory is right didt DJ sign Olofinjana when Wolves got promoted? ideal player for us.

Thanks for the news Carl :ayatollah: :ayatollah: so Koumas out for a week or so plus Mc Phail injured and Drinkwater still not eligable then that leaves just Taiwoo and Rae in CMF with Wildig as back up , not sure I fancy that against Sheff Utd . So say the embargo was lifted then whats the latest time any new platers can be registered before Sunday's game ? :ayatollah:

Get the club shop open with all brand new stock and plenty of new kit and surely some money would be generated from that? Also match day ticket sales will help boost the account.

We can finally see the light at the end of a very long tunnel........for now! We still have a team to follow and starting with 3 points Sunday will be a big relief for the fans and the club itself!
