A forum for all things Cardiff City

Just been reliably informed that cardiff city are unable to sign any new players in the january transfer window as they are under a transfer embargo, until they clear all the money they owe to the tax man.
They are trying to get supporters to buy new season tickets now to supposedly buy new players in january, this is a big lie as they are not allowed to do so due to the embargo. FACT.
Could anyone shed any light on this.

Reliably informed by whom may we ask?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 4:45 pm
I can't imagine that there are many teams who don't owe outstanding tax liabilities.
Therefore if all of those clubs who do have outstanding commitments are under a transfer embargos then the FL & PL may as well such the window now.

Planet Gypo's, the only official source for all Cardiff City inside information!
It's bollox mate, don't believe everything you're told/read. We can assure you there will be new faces at CCFC within the next 30 days so don't worry yourself.

City my good man happy new year, ones not worried, its just the thought of visiting this board and reading all the doom and gloom when all your hard earn coins have purrrr chased season tickets for nothing youngman.
Fri Jan 01, 2010 4:59 pm
Happy new year to you too sir!
We'll be fine, expect to see new faces. However much planet gypo's would like people to think it, it's not always all doom and gloom at CCFC!
What are you're hopes for the next 30 days? Is Trundle to be your only signing?

Again, where did this come from? You can't come on here making statements like that without being able to back them up with some sort of source. So come on where did you hear this?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 5:01 pm
I was just "reliably informed" of a mass exodus at Swansea due to massive debt. No new signings either!!! Wonder if we got the same informant ?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 5:07 pm
to be honest city i would like to think that Sousa will bring in a goal scorer but saying that the way he plays we could easily end up with another midfielder.
Rumours are rife that two of our spanish players are leaving, also heard last week that trundle was signing till the end of the season in which he has and the other player mentioned is at the present only playing as a bit part striker in the premiership but over the last few seasons been a very prolific goalscorer,if we do get him it will be a cracking signing.

Berwyn i wouldnt make such a statement if there was nothing in it,all i will say its not a wind up.
Fri Jan 01, 2010 5:11 pm

Fri Jan 01, 2010 5:11 pm

Try telling that to your ground owners, Swansea Council.
They and the ratepayers arent happy.
No rent paid since you've been there, and still rent owed from the VETCH FFS !!
And your lovely fans arent making it any easier with the slip and fall claims

This subject was well covered a few weeks ago when the emargo looked a real possibility due to the winding up order placed by the Inland revenue.
This has since been thrown out. A payement schedule agreed (there was £1.2m owing) and I beleive at least part of this has been paid.
There is no embargo in place now.
Your source is either a few weeks out or just completely wrong, or wishful thinking...

Nice to read ............ we can't wish your team well obviously , but I've taken your advice and ordered wrinkle cream onine , LOL. It's getting close between our clubs , uncomfortably so for me. Maybe a play-off final at Wembley later in the year ?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:00 pm
Blazing its not like that at all fella by the way its Jack, jack me oldson jack,by the way do you like candy blazing
Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:05 pm
To be honest Gareth i think the powers that run the fa would dread it and change the venue to say the mill staduim, even though they got a contract with wembley i just dont think they would want a game at wembley which would be highlighted for all the wrong reasons, just impossible to police,on us finishing in the play off positions it would be great but i think our goal scoring record will cost us.
Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:09 pm
this is the time of year it all changes ......... a loan signing or a bit of DJ tranfer magic might push us on. As for Wembley , well wouldn't the Mill Stad give us home advantage or summat ? Coppers are gonna have an outing where ever it is , so let's all enjoy/destroy London first ?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:16 pm
London would be like the blitz revisited could you imagine over 100,000 welsh people in london mayhem.
