I always liked Ross, and hated the way he was dropped when Chopra came in.

He kept us afloat, and filled the boots of Chops, when Chops left for Sunderland. As soon as Chops came back, out Ross goes.

He's a brilliant player, and should be playing first team IMO.

Never sell him no way with or without Chops injured but Id loan him out along with Gerrard to get themselves fitter , if Leeds cant afford the wages then why is he bothering to talk to them ? :ayatollah:

I agree with Dafydd. I think he's more consistent than Chopra and I think he could still do a job. On a personal level for him though I think it's a good move because he needs regular first team football and if him going frees up space for wages then maybe it's good. However, he's a quality player in my eyes and you never want to see quality players leave.

SSN saying he's gone. Undisclosed fee.

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

havent we also agreed a fee with Ipswich and Leicester as well and its down to the player to negotiate the best deal for himself. I remember reading a Roy Kean quote somewhere that no deal will be done until next week.

Not now, not with Chopra out, but I suppose it all depends if there is a replacement lined up?

I like Mcormack though and wouldn't sell or loan him - just get hime down the Gym.

Does anyone know what kind of wages he is on?

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

Annis if a fee is agreed like I've been reading can Cardiff pull out now or is that our part of the deal done? Hope Ross stays till at least Jan he is a top player.

The stock answer to this one is "at the right price".

Also, it depends on how many of the rumours about his behaviour are true. In addition to the drink drive charge, there have been many stories repeated on this group concerning his alcohol and dietary habits, as well as rumours about him being generally sulky when left out of the team to the detriment of morale in the rest of the squad.

The fact that the club are prepared to let him go when he is likely to get a reasonable run in the team while Chopra is out injured suggests that DJ thinks that we are better off without him, and we have to back his judgement on that. If we can use the money on a back-up to Jay he may be the least missed of the hold out stars.

As already mentioned, not at the moment, unless there are replacements ready to come in. We don't want to loose the momentum we are currently experiencing.

And look how SSN have got things wrong over the last week! BBC Wales at lunchtime says fee is agreed between the 2 clubs but Ross still negotiating personal terms. (Leeds won't offer him enough, apparently).

Always liked Rossco but If it means bringing in cover for Jay then i think its totally the right decision.

Even with chops out injured he wouldn't be in my team.

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

yes i think we should sell ross. I felt for the guy when he was dropped for chopra when he was playing well but since then instead of getting his head down the guy has turned into a loose cannon! we all know he's on the piss all the time but i went to watch them train on friday (the day before the doncaster game) and he stood there for about 20 minutes trying to kick the ball of a rugby tee 40 yards over rugby posts!! i mean ffs what better way to pull a hamstring the day before a game. he started doing it on his own, then after about 10 minutes taiwo and whitts had joined him. Sorry lads it's easy to critisize dave jones but unless we are privy to things like this we only know half the story!

It's now being reported that Ross has signed for Leeds which makes me think that either Chops is only out for 2-3 weeks or we are bringing anothe striker in. Heard on Saturday that we were after Kitson from Stoke who i think would be good back up to Jay and would stop him getting complacement. Although with Bellamy as captain i can't see Jay or any of the others getting complacement but anyway selling Ross and freeing up his wages might allow us to bring in Kitson or Jason Roberts?

Would also like to wish Ross all the best i think he's lost his way with us and a move might be best for him just wish it wasn't dirty Leeds

I'd rather Jason Roberts out of those two. I've heard that Dave Kitson has become a big time charlie and his attitude stinks. That might just be hear say though!

TalkSport ( Alan Brazil) reported there was a rumour Kitson was off to QPR for £2million

I would like to wish Ross all the best and I hope he doesn't come back to "bite us in the arse!"
Leeds................good move for him and them; whether we like it or not Leeds are a big club in the Championship.
"Are we right to loan/sell Ross?" I'm afraid only time will tell - Ross is the type of player who can make things happen when he's up for it.
I can't comment about his "lifestyle" rumours, because I have no first hand experience of them.
At this moment I'm disappointed that he has gone.

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

Pity he did not fulfil his potential here really. He never fitted into the team out wide with Boths and Chops. I reckon we are freeing up wages for back up for Jay.

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

well if hes gone sod him now...he doesnt want to stay and hang about so if he wants to go to dirty leeds up to him may suit him with his chip on his shoulder ,i support all our boys all the time but when they dont seem interested in playing for the club etc id rather them go....we all know people slag dj off but its known he,s been moaning since the day chops came back instead of workign hard and being proffesional.....never mind maybe we got someone else lined up,the way we,re going it wouldnt suprise me and dj has improved this squad massively this year......cheers ross but bye.

I'd keep him until January now that Chops is ruled out as he can cover for Chris Burke as well. I'd offer Leeds Commingues!!

My concern though is getting in cover for Jay, He was immense on Saturday we are f**ked if he gets injured...

With the midfielders we have you can spend all day doing options of the team without him even without bringing in another striker.

Just a few.... Him going really doesnt concern me.

what if jay gets injured tonight  in my view we need 2 new strikers in pronto.

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

Well isnt that the reason they are looking to sell Ross to bring in a jay replacement
Rossco would be no good upfront on his own.

It would have to be Bellamy upfront on his own (which he has done before)

Re: " ARE WE RIGHT TO LOAN/SELL ROSS ? "

its all about reducing the wage bill as as far as im concerned.
im sure the club would love to get ross and maybe whitts off the wage bill but as when clubs enquired for chops the wages are frightening people off.
another damning testament of the burger king managers ridiculous wage structure that nearly put the club through.
with regards to bothroyd im sure the club will look at his contract in the next 2 months and after seeing what the wage bill is like after the transfer window closes

On what we know then i can not see a real case to let him go HOWEVER do Cardiff City have plans to bring in somebody we do not know about yet?

If it means getting players who are better then yes

Leeds can't afford his wages.
So the Risdale effect is still in play at Leeds.
He gave Ross the wages Leeds can't afford.
