“It’s So Close Now For Cardiff City”

Sun Jul 02, 2023 9:28 am

Aaron Ramsey wants to stay in Cardiff to be with his young family, he wants to be able to daily to take his children to School and be able to be close with his wife and parents etc

And It will happen this week, Ramsey and his family are adamant they want to stay local, so Dalman you have the easiest job ever.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=233901&hilit=Ramsey

Ramsey’s Wife does not want to leave Cardiff and won’t move to even America where they could be spoilt beyond as they are well off as it is and family life means more to them all.

Ramsey first approached Cardiff and turned down a chance of two more years in France in the Top League.

This has made Ramsey a Free Agent.

Ramsey is not asking for wages beyond, but does expect a good Championship wage and City don’t have to pay a transfer fee.

Dalman and Co like all the other new contracts given out had already agreed before Erol Bulut arrived that they wanted Ramsey.
It’s now up to how Ramsey, Bulut get on and what wages Dalman and Co are prepared to pay.

So the ball is in our court, but it’s 95% a done deal.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=233901&hilit=Ramsey

Ramsey wants approx £25,000 a week , plus % on merchandise sales.

SHIRT SALES WILL BE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS

If he wants anything over £30k a week it will be an issue . The fact he wants to play at Cardiff does not make it easy deal if his demands are beyond our limits.
I for one hope to see him in a city shirt Having played football with his Dad and two uncles ( dad side ) in Trowbridge Green as a kid I always kept a keen eye on his development from a young age.

Hoping it’s within our budget as we don’t have many big contracts at all. Let’s hope Tan isn’t too tight.

Callum Robinson is on 28k a week , surly we can pay ramsey at least that .

A fully functioning Aaron Ramsey playing for city would be fantastic, but we don't want an ageing player using us as his retirement home. He was a passenger during the world cup and hasn't really performed his best for a few years.

Ramsey and Robinson together. Now that's a hell of a duo to build a side around to push for the top six.

Agree, ramsay is better in an attacking role not the more defensive role he's played recently for wales .

Wouldn’t compare him to what he does for Wales.

He’s hardly utilised properly and doesn’t have the legs to be running all over the place. He’s best when he’s in the number 10 role.

I'm pretty sure the Gaffa wants a no 10.Between him and Colwill we'll be pretty blessed.

Just get him signed, it's a no brainer for me. I am amazed when I see some people doubt him regarding age and injuries etc. He would 100% make us a much better side. Play him in the number 10 role too. Fingers crossed we get this signing over the line. :bluebird:  :bluescarf:

Build a side around Rambo at no.10 and there you have Playoff contenders imo

That sounds like a fair deal.

He would be a brilliant signing. Averaged about 60 minutes per game in Ligue 1 last season, which is a higher standard than the Championship.

Really hope the club make it happen.

He should have a massive impact on the club, he’ll add a few thousand to the gate ( including a percentage of his merchandise he’ll generate his own wages ) He will obviously influence the young players at the club. He’s a big name and hopefully this will attract other ‘bigger’ names
I only have one issue, he hasn’t got a full season in the championship in him, half a season at best
To draw a comparison look at Joe Allen, going back to the peg sellers

Well that is come and get me for a player of his quality Say he adds 2000 to the match day attendance at average £20 a head that £40k plus greater merchandise even if he takes a %

I really hope this isn’t another Gareth Bale Dejavu, that was meant to be near a done deal and that falling through was dreadful, I’d love nothing more than to see Ramsey back here, with a Cardiff shirt on, number 16 or 8 or 30, please make it happen

A half functioning Aaron Ramsey would be the best midfielder we have had at the club for about 10 years.

Miles better than anybody else at the club at the moment.

How many better midfielders do you think we can sign on a free transfer or without paying a loan fee?

I hope not too. I did wonder whether having his mate playing down the road might prompt GB into wanting a kick around. He must sick of golf 7 days a week by now. He's surely go another couple of seasons in him.

Bale didn't.

28g a week Robinson ? That is crazy money, should never be on that,
Surely Ramsey ain’t bothered how much he will be on .
And for bale coming bak to football , no chance I’ve heard he’s going in for European golf tournaments

That's cheap for a championship striker these days tbh .

"I met him in the stadium when he played Armenia. You might hear more from me next week if we sign some players."

You can go back in time and I remember the likes of Hudson and Chops were on the wage Rambo wants now .
As for Rambo the lad has never let us down when he was here and the time he came back on loan from Arsenal ...
Don't think we lost a match in his loan spell here :bluebird:

Re: “It’s So Close Now For Cardiff City”

Rambo is one of our own and has never let us down in the past. £25K a week is nothing compared to the money we hemorrhaged on the likes of Tomlin & Baccuna et al.

A half fit Ramsey is still miles ahead of any midfielder we have on our books right now. I still have mental scar tissue over the fiasco of GB in the last close season but this is a different case completely.

We've had a rough few years supporting our club and this could be the bullet of impetous and hope that we now deserve as long suffering fans. If we can pull this off imagine how much easier it will be to sign other players, all be it frees and loans. It will make a statement that we actually mean business. :bluebird:
