Ramsey Problems??

I hope I am wrong but I am hearing rumours, from close to the club, that the signature of Aaron Ramsey has hit a snag.

Aaron clearly wants to play for us. He is willing to take a massive pay cut to play for us and all he asks is that he has a small percentage of merchandising rights (shirt sales etc).

Unfortunately, from what I am hearing, Tan does not want Ramsey to have any merchandising rights.

Hopefully, this will sort itself out but if he doesn't sign I don't think it will be Ramseys' fault.

Who knows whether this is right or not but Tan is supposed to be a successful businessman.

Surely if a dullard like me can see that giving Ramsey say 10% still leaves Tan with 90% of quite a lot whereas at the moment he's got 100% of f**k all.

I'm not getting excited about this transfer either way until that he's announced or we hear that it's not going to happen.

But I do hope obviously that we get the transfer done.

The club would be stupid to let him go because he wants a percentage of whatever increase there is on merchandise sales. We can't afford to pay him big money so this would be a fair deal in my view.

If true, I hope these issues can be sorted soon. There will be no rush from Ramsey's point of view to get the deal done, but hopefully we can get him to sign sooner rather than later.

All I will say is people shouldn't compare it to Bale last summer, it's a completely different situation. Bale used us, Ramsey isn't.

No problems, his agent is using our interest in him to drive up his price. Just like Bale last season.

I’m not sure about the whole Ramsey potentially signing rumours. Whilst people say he’s been training with the squad, by going off his Instagram photos he’s been training individually down the Vale. Maybe people who’ve said he’s training with us have put 2+2 together and got 5. And Erol’s comments post Penybont were taking out of context. Last night he was asked more directly and threw off the rumours as just that really. I’d love him to sign, but I’m not too sure we’re even close to getting him.

Find it hard to know unless someone close to Ramsey or the club is letting private information out, how anyone knows Ramsey’s demands apart from parties involved.

How do you work that out when the first time the rumours appeared in the national press was yesterday?

If an agent was trying to drive up his price, they'd have put it out to the national press weeks ago.

After Balegate I decided not to bother the slightest with Ramsey. If he does sign then I will return to the subject but I'm not going to let this board play mind games with me.

There’s also the addition of how he’d help bring the youngsters on… you’d imagine the likes of King, Colwill etc, would benefit massively from even just training with someone of his calibre week in week out.

100% need his quality. Without saying our squad is poor directly he has said it with the quote we need quality and all fans would agree with that

Monty I think we should all just wait and see as there’s about 4-5 versions of events that have / will take place above.

He's asking for a fair deal.

Similar wages to what Robinson is on plus a percentage of whatever increase there is on merchandise sales from last season - not a percentage of all merchandise sales.

We should offer that.

Like I said, I don't know either way whether the deal will go through or not. But I do think it will.

The fact that Dalman has flown back from Monaco is a good sign.

Makes sense for him to get a % of shirt sales after he signs or as has been said over last seasons amount. We sell an extra 10 shirts he gets not a lot, we sell an extra 10,000 shirts then both him & Cardiff city are making a fair amount. Can't see any sense in not agreeing to that unless he want a huge %.

How much do we make on merchandise I can't imagine it's a hudge sum. So what is 10/20%. I can't see this being of much importance to Ramsey with what he's already worth and if his main motivation is being close to his family.

Reputation as a decent poster means a lot to me. I like people to be interested in my posts and for that reason, I do not post things to set the rumour mill going.

As a former club photographer and Newspaper photographer, I still have friends, within the journalistic community, who bring things up now and again. As the adage goes I never reveal my source but the reason I posted this was because I believed it to be true.

Personally, I hope things get sorted and that he does sign this week.
