tbh I sit in 117/118 and this season some new youngsters have come over and some of them are right bellends .most around me are the old soul crew boys that you know annis and have sat there since the stadium opened but some of the newbies are sitting where they like it's starting to piss us off asking them to move out of our seats and I can see a few youngsters getting a slap soon , it's not all but a hand full .

I'm in the Ninian stand and we commented today that the atmosphere was the best it's been for a long time.

The prick is on a job for life so it’s self serving to create problems with the fans to deal with . I seem to recall him saying all ‘ those type of fans in A block are not welcome’ ( or something similar ) around 15 - 20 years ago . Nothing has changed , nothing will . We’re a happy clapper club these days , the type I looked down my nose at 20 years ago .

Yes the atmosphere was good today but as I've said before our main singers are so far from the away fans they might as well be in another ground

Agree and it will be at the Swansea game if the small groups who have been relocated continue to sit where they like again to be with their mates. No one wants to see that and it is entirely avoidable if this ridiculous relocation wouldn't have happened by Nash in the first place but it's only going to go one way. That said, I enjoyed the atmosphere today despite the wall of stewards but I can see something kicking off for sure and especially after folks have had a few beers for the evening KO and want their seat.

I’ve moved over to the family stand this season. My daughter is going to her first game end of September for Rotherham (she can’t wait) but I had enough during the Swansea game… lads who had never been or just decided to sit wherever they liked because they wanted to be right next to the away fans. And you’re right, they are bellends.

Need to hold my language in the family stand though, and found it very difficult this afternoon.

Firstly, they're not rwal stewards. They are additional to the club stewards and have (no offence meant) less of an impact to said club stewards...

I'm only surprised (and I don't want to put more daft ideas in their heads) that they haven't been trained to sing "Sit down and behave yourselves...!" towards the Bluebird element only...

And the Wednesday fan doing the dambusters gets away with it

This is why many City fans are fed up, they are punished for the slightest thing.

Don’t get me wrong I am the first to defend the club if we have fans being arsehole . But the club could handle this type of situation so much better. If you want to separate fans the club could easily cover over the seats as we see in many stadiums and then place a number of stewards the other side of the covering.
The situation in that photo would piss me off and I am of a mild disposition What it would do to those who are not so mild I don’t know

I don't have any problem with the actual stewards Chris, most of which are fine, the issue is what they have been told to do which as the photos show is purposively way over the top.

There is rarely any issue in 117, and that was the same yesterday and not as a result of this new regime. When we scored, fans ran through them to celebrate which also wasn't a problem and you see it at every away match you go too and your not going to stop that. I think that this new line of stewarding is precisely to stop that happening plus I'm very concerned on hearing stories of 5 match bans for swearing etc and especially when the away fans are allowed to do whatever they like.

The back and forth banter has always been a part of football, never a problem and long may it continue as it adds to the atmosphere and is never a problem. Nothing escalates into anything series because of CCTV, bans and jail sentences, that's why it's never an issue.

So why then is Wayne Nash or somebody on some sort of vendetta or mission against fans to kill off what happens in every other ground every week? Because it seems to me he's in some kind of lower trip or he has sort sort of axe to grind against our passionate fans who ultimately pay his wages and are the lifeblood of the club.

Just wait until the Swansea game. Every year stewards over the top. Checking every ticket going up into the stands even at halftime or you go for a piss to come back up.

I agree with some of the points mentioned.
However, as I was in Block 16 Saturday, I thought the atmosphere was pretty good.
Obviously the Sheffield fans were loud as they travelled in big numbers, but the Canton stand noise was very good throughout for once.
It's difficult to get the whole ground singing and chanting, unless we are two or three up, playing good football. That rarely happens these days.
Finally, I can only assume our fans are all squashed into blocks 16/17 instead of being spread out to prevent the surge by certain aggressive fans towards the away fans each time we score. (usually reflected by the opposition fans in response)
Nevertheless, I think the away fans should have equal treatment by police and stewards when they become over excited and abusive as our lads.

I made an apology recently regarding Wayne's involvement in the 'gap' on 117/118 but more reliable sources tell me he was indeed heavily involved in the decision...

Reading your post about ninian stand stewards, I am in the canton, and during the players lap around the pitch last game of the season I took my boy down the front to see HIS HEROS, he's 11 years old, I went to lift my boy down onto the wheelchair/disabled section and a steward standing in the front was shouting at me not to, so I had a few words and told him when the players reach this side of the pitch I'll put him down there and he was adamant I wasn't, so I said watch me, and when the players came down I lifted him down, he was going nuts and called his supervisor, my son was now the only one in that section, a few other fans were having a go at the stewards and then the supervisor was on radio....anyway nothing else come of it, I was expecting a few stewards to come up and throw me out of something. My point is us fans have lost our balls and we need to stand up to them, if everyone stood up in the ninian they can't throw them all out
