MY VIEW:
Bulut , don’t blame individual players to the media not professional at all.
Angry Cardiff City boss Erol Bulut hooked Ollie Tanner because he was 'not satisfied with his performance':
Erol Bulut says he took off Cardiff City winger Ollie Tanner at half-time during the 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town because he wasn't satisfied with Tanners performance.
"I was not satisfied with his performance," Bulut said post-match to the BBC when asked if the young winger's substitution was injury enforced or a tactical change.
Asked whether that was due to anything specific, the manager replied: "Generally."
“I am not satisfied with Tanners performance.”
"When you are leading 2-0, this game, you don't have to give it away," he said.
"We have to be more disciplined on the field. How we get a third one, there was no discipline on the field.

Yeah ok Bullut, because his replacement Ugbo done really well when he came on.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:37 pm
Totally wrong on 2 accounts. Firstly Bulut must’ve been watching a different game as Tanner was brilliant first half and secondly you don’t publicly slate a player individually.

Erol you are wrong admit it. A tip for you get the team fit because they are not.Look at your fitness coach.

...and if Bulut had dodged the question he would be hauled over the coals.
He's been praised for his straight talking, but when people don't agree with him he gets critised.
He was asked a straight forward question and gave a straight forward answer. Move on, I'm sure Tanner has.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:44 pm
Trying to deflect from his inability to manage a game. He might have recruited a few decent players (and I mean a few) but he’s not impressing me with this management. Appreciate its early days but I doubt he’ll last the season. Lose to the gypos and the pressure will really be on him.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:46 pm
Bulut needs to see an optician and I agree he shouldn't slag off players in public.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:48 pm
I don't agree with him but also don't think his comments are an issue.
He was just asked a question and gave an answer, nothing wrong with that.

Ned,
A professional manager should not slate one individual player.
We lost due to Buluts tactics def not Tanner.
Shocking by Bulut.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:53 pm
He has publicly slated a player who didnt do anything wrong that’s the problem. Tanner was best player on the pitch and is virtually being blamed for the defeat. He is a young player and Bulut was wrong to say those comments
Sat Sep 02, 2023 5:58 pm
He didn't blame him. He said he wasn't happy with his performance.
Now you can disagree with the latter part but let's not exaggerate what was said.

Yeah straight talking , thats fine but when you are clearly wrong it comes across very badly
His substitutions were shocking

Never right for a manger to name names particularly just one when u lose particularly a striker when we concede 3 goals…
Hope Bulut reflects and sees this.
Still think we have a very good manager there …time will tell but I’m still optimistic
Sat Sep 02, 2023 6:03 pm
He might have got a few things wrong today but he isnt blaming Tanner for anything. He was asked the question why he brought him off and he said he wasnt satisfied with his performance. Nothing more nothing less.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 6:09 pm
Ridiculous from Bulut. Tanner had some great moments and the team looked far more balanced with him in it. Bizarre decision to sub him and really don’t like managers coming out and slagging off young players when they don’t hold their hands up for their own shortcomings. Bulut’s tactics and subs second hand were dreadful

You rarely see any top manager publicly slate a young player, even when I asked. They cover for them and take them aside in private. I hated Morison for doing this. It’s all well and good if you’re an experienced manager with a great CV. You can lose the dressing room quickly if not.
he didn’t name names he was asked about bringing tanner off

I'm sorry but if Bullut thinks Ollie Tanner is the problem then he is badly out of touch. Ugbo & Meile contribute very little to the team and both missed sitters today. Grant was very good today but Bullut should not have made the substitutions he did. I personally think that Tanner should be used as an impact substitute but, fair play to the lad, his treatment today was not warranted.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 6:26 pm
Straight out of the Morison book, blaming the youngest least experienced player publically.
Tanner wasn't the sub that cost us, it was the Ralls and Meites one with the change of tactics. He needs to pick two centre halfs not bottle it and go three because two of them are his signings and the other has a massive extension. We sent Perry and Collins as the wide players so Grant who had his guy on toast was in field in midfeild.
The championship will find him out pretty soon if we get this level of panic game-time decision-making.
Ugbo is not an inside forward, Rambo passed to Ipswich more than their team, but he singled out the kid

I think more managers should be like bulut .We were light weight last season and the only way to get rid of that bad habbit is to demand better .
Players now no that there place isnt set in stone .
I think an old school hard manger in some situations is good but these days its not excepted .
Lots of players are like babies .
I dont think tanner did wrong today and maybe its buluts frustration.
He needs to learn as does the team big time we are just to easy to beat and i think he knows it .
Its break that cycle and improve or sink like last season.
If he needs to put a bulut up someones arse crack on just careful how you do it.
I think tanner has been showing very positive signs going forward.
Anyway bulut is hurting best way to re store the faith is go beat the Jacks

It is threads like this that epitomise how fake news becomes fact across the Internet.
Bulut DID NOT BLAME Tanner. I heard the whole interview and his response to asking why Tanner was brought off was that, he wasn't happy with his performance.
You can disagree with that but no blame was put on Tanners shoulders.
I do not agree with Bulut re Tanner.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 7:09 pm
Reminds me a bit of when Dave Jones was critical of Adam Matthews after he scored an own goal against (ironically) Ipswich a few years ago.
Don't mind Bulut being open and honest but he should also be willing to put his hands up and admit that his own performance so far has left a lot to be desired.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 7:19 pm
Jesus I don't know what more tanner could have done 1st half direct from the go tbh for a bad performance from him so the manager thinks. The manager was to blame for this defeat end of. It was his system he changed at 0-2 up and we went 3-2 down only then did he change it back again most people will eyeballs who was there or watched off a stream could see that I've spoken to.
As for ugbo who come on he's garbage bar tapping the ball in but thats what strikers do yet his all round play is honking and meite offers nothing really imo
Sat Sep 02, 2023 7:58 pm
Oh dear Erol you've had an absolute Mare today pal and you're making it worse.
Changed the keeper that backfired. The goalie was at fault for 2 goals and was our worst player.
Made a tactical switch and subs which cost us the game when we were in control.
Now he comes out and has a go at a player making his first start in the league who didn't even have a bad game.
Let's call it as it is Erol you've had a stinker today, front up and admit it and don't look for pathetic excuses.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:01 pm
We were winning when tanner went off mind so don’t really understand it
Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:06 pm
HT when Tanner went off , we were 1-0 up . If Meite had scored that header from Tanners cross , we would have been 2-0 . Ifs and buts .
Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:08 pm
It seems a bit of a kick in the teeth for a young player who most think has done a cracking job this season.
Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:24 pm
It’s hard to wrap your head around that one. Changing shape at 2-1, taking off a striker and bringing on another centre back, backfired big time. Maybe the goalkeeper should have done better for two and three, and Alnwick can be aggrieved at being dropped. It was going so well!
