And yet at the next election the people of Wales like the idiots that they are will vote Labour back in with a huge majority giving them full authority to carry on with these madcap policies knowing that they can do whatever they like and they'll still be voted in because "my dad and grandad and great granddad voted labour so I will too.

No wonder these knobheads like Drakeford think they can do what the f**k they want and get away with it - they can.

Conservatives must be rubbing their hands together, easy campaign if they got any sense.
We promise to put speed limits back to normal.

I'm tempted to sit on the horn behind anyone doing 20, would certainly piss people off lol. It's f*cking ridiculously slow. No need at all other than by schools.

No chance. Most of the voters in Wales will think this is a UK Government plan anyway.

Welsh Labour could put a scruffy, clueless, lying father of a rapist up and he'd still win... oh wait.

Why are people moaning now, this has been coming for months, just goes to show how people don't take any notice of what's going on that's why labour keep getting voted back in, I've been telling people for months this was happening and they didn't believe me , it's no different that parts of the valleys are one of the most poorest parts of the UK all under labour control for 100 years ,yet they still vote for them, perhaps this 20mph might make them look

Maybe it's because they still remember what Maggie did to them 40 years ago?

Either way, don't forget that the original 20mph proposal was from a Conservative AM, and that most of them voted in favour of its implementation.

Signed
Any sane person agrees 20 mph around schools but the rest is an utter farce
My wife is a home carer
She doesnt expect special treatment but her and her colleagues cannot get to calls on time
Agree about the comments regarding Welsh Labour
Drakeford knows he will get voted back in regardless of what he does
Plaid have made themselves even more unelectable (if that was possible) by agreeing with the government again

Re: ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

Plaid and labour own this 20mph they voted it through, stop blaming the Tories every time labour fook up in Wales ,how many people in Wales blame Westminster for everything when it's there fault down the bay ,and as for the pits up the valleys why haven't labour cleaned all the slag heaps up that are still dangerous as hell , remember the land slide a while back ,still haven't done nothing

Re: ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

The people in Wales are complete muppets always voting Labour because mummy and daddy did they have brains the size of a pea and I'm sorry to say mostly those from the valleys just wait for next election and I will be proven right.

I dont know where you got the fact that most conservative ams voted in favour. The original vote was passed by 39 to 15. Conservative AMS make up 16 in the Senedd and i am pretty sure they voted against.

You are quoting the repeal vote that happened a few days ago and failed.

The vote on 20mph happened a year ago and was passed by 85% of the AM's. Don't know how that is made up in respects to parties.

Don’t vote Labour, don’t vote Conservative. Certainly no votes for the right-wing nut job parties.

Will be looking at more independent options.

Re: ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

Tue Sep 19, 2023 4:50 pm

The one Conservative who didn't vote was their current leader. Paul Davies was leader at the time of the vote.

Looking at almost 200k signatures. That'd amazing in the space of a couple of days.

That's around 50% of the population of Cardiff!

That turtle necked tosser and his wet weekend deputy climate change minister need to open their ears and wake up!

Complete waste of time in my opinion.
They’ll never change it back.

I heard they’ve spent over £30 million on all the bullshit.

There is no way it's getting changed back and as usual the Welsh people will vote the same clowns back into power just like Turkeys voting to keep xmas dinner.

Re: ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

For the record, Harold Wilson closed more than double the mines Thatcher closed, in almost half the time.

Drakeford was responsible for RWE closing Aberthaw B early, after they spent £250 million + on environmental improvements.
Cue energy crisis. The bloke is a walking disaster.. and dangerous.

Re: ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

Tue Sep 19, 2023 10:08 pm

As usual drakeford does his best to piss everyone off over a policy, if implemented properly could have bee. Popular.

He didn’t need to change the default 30 to 20. Spend a shit Ton of money on it and wind everyone up.

He could have granted councils power to zone more areas and give guidance on what they want. So important through roads woikd default be exempt and smaller roads with more chance of pedestrians being easily changed.

But no. He knows best and sod everyone else. Gets his lackey in to be even more pompous because they know great grandpa voted labour to all future family generations will.

I very much doubt it will make cycling safer and more popular. I cycle daily. So far I’ve experienced more fumes and more close calls. Not one close call was due to speed it was due to idiots not caring or not looking.

I signed the petition but we all know what he will do with it.
