Where the fook was most from Saturday

Shocking attendance. Absolutely piss poor.
You're right - where the hell did the 10k go!?
No excuses: if we were playing Arsenal they all would've been there even if there was a hurricane and tickets were £30 a pop. So disappointing
Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:45 pm
Disappointing. We need to expand our regular fanbase somehow
Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:46 pm
I didn't expect 28k again, nobody really did.
But I did expect closer to around 22k with the amount of away support there was.
I would hope that now we've backed up that win then we will see another good crowd for Rotherham. Especially if we can get a point on Sunday.

I had a season ticket for years but I haven’t renewed since we returned after the pandemic. I went Saturday and really enjoyed it but watching city on the firestick in the comfort of my own home with the best view of the game is hard to beat. Most of my mates who used to be season tickets holders do the same. Doesn’t make us any less loyal it’s just the convenience of modern technology.

Would’ve been there but unfortunately got Covid. Very disappointing crowd but we all knew the plastics wouldn’t be there tonight

I was there

You're not contributing anything to the cause though. Some might even argue that you're stealing from the club. If you can't afford it that's fair enough but for sheer convenience, that's a bit off in my view. If our whole fanbase followed your lead we'd be bankrupt and in league 2

Cardiffcpt totally agree with your reply

Those of you who constantly criticise the crowds we get must be too young to remember the 80s and 90s when we regularly had crowds of just a few thousand and once had less than 4000 for a home game versus Swansea.

still sticking to not renewing until Tan is gone, saving up for a box or prawn sandwich ticket too at my age - but loving fight enthusiasm, total change in team and tactics, a bit of class and its much more enjoyable even when losing. Not the full dinner set but certainly a plate and two cups short of top 6.
long may it continue - preferably without Tan!
Wed Sep 20, 2023 6:47 am
Hardly a comparison. Let's see the attendance next time we play on a Saturday at 7.45pm.
We all know midweeks drop off by thousands for plenty of obvious reasons.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 6:48 am
It was the same last season i usually have empty seats around me between ninian and canton but the swansea game i said to the bloke next to me
nice to have someone sitting next to me
but the rest of the season back to empty seats
We are not doing enough to encourage fans or something needs to be done otherwise it will remain the same until we reach the promised landand we do have a
33,000 capacity so a half empty stadium always looks poor.

Why can't people forget about the Tan issue. If you are a City fan you will follow them no matter who owns the club.
The Tan issue is just an excuse.

Spot on

From my seat it actually looked a fair few less than the 18,000 odd announced.
The Ninian stand was sparse and the family stand was almost empty.
The fact is our normal crowd for normal games are around this 18,000 figure.
As the saying goes ….. it is what it is.

Think we had less than 2,000 for a couple of games mid 80s.. things were bad. Some football fans have a totalitarian view of what others should do in their spare time. That’s their problem.

No, I agree with you; it certainly is (quote) "
less loyal", if they are simply not turning up...
It's how most so-called '
Top 6' supporters work and actually does little for the club they say they support...

It not bad for mid week and the weather Our attendance were shocking in years gone by Our average attendance in 90/91 was below 3000 with season highest attendance around 4,900 We come along way and some people called the 80s and 90s the good old years

Even my fav season of the 90s 92/3 which was the year we got promoted our highest crow was lower than last night and the average for the season was around 7,500 O can remember people saying that we were a well supported club in those days even if it was the bottom division
Wed Sep 20, 2023 11:09 am
There's a couple of comments regarding our days in Division 3 and the 'dungeon' back in the 80s and 90s. Our crowds back then were pretty crap to be fair but them for large period of those decades we were also shit!
We've now had 20 years of either Championship or Premier League football - the standard has been consistently higher.
In my view our average attendance ought to be better now. If you take out the 1400 Coventry fans, that leaves 17,000 City supporters at the CCS last night. Just think there's scope for improvement.
Loyalty equals: attending matches regularly, thereby contributing to the club coffers and getting behind the players in person, not in front of a TV.
Sounds like a preach this but can't be helped.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 11:29 am
In all fairness the crowd who were in there last night made a good atmosphere.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 2:46 pm
The crowd was a little disappointing after the Swansea game but lets be realistic, if you aren't a season ticket holder, going to two games in the space of 3 days is expensive. We may be cheaper than some clubs but its still not a cheap night out. Add in the fact that the weather was forecast to be awful, it was a Tuesday night and it was on the red button( i think) and all in all the crowd wasn't brilliant but it was ok.

I guess I'm not loyal then because I watch every match on my ipad from the USA. Grow up.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 4:06 pm
Our crowds rise and fall faster than the tides in the Bristol channel.should be a variation of a few thousand but 28000 down to 18000 is shocking
Wed Sep 20, 2023 4:48 pm
SKIPRAT
swansea game always draws a big crowd so not a good comparison i should imagine its the same every year after the swansea game
but on average we get around 18/20 thousand for most home games
Wed Sep 20, 2023 5:09 pm
What a load of shit

I go to the football when I want to go to the football, nobody dictates that. We all have different lives and priorities, football is a game and a past time only. Enjoy it however you can and when you can.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 5:50 pm
Nobody is dictating to you FOOTSOLDIER but using a firestick is contributing nothing to the cause and people are entitled to denounce that, aren't they?
If people are poor then i can see why they'd do it but in a lot of cases they're not poor, just taking from the club without giving anything back.
Wed Sep 20, 2023 5:53 pm
I always find it funny when some supporters think they’re better than others as if it matters somehow. I couldn’t care less what other fans deem as loyal, all I know is I’ve spent thousand watching city over the years and I enjoy watching them whether it’s on the tv or at the CCS. This day and age gate receipts play less of a role in a clubs financials and it’s more about the deep pockets of the owners hence why we’re in so much debt and teams like Bournemouth are in the prem.
