MY VIEW / OPINION: TODAY CARDIFF CITY STRUGGLED TO GET A HOME DRAW

Alnwick incredible mistake costly.

Watford had only Won 1 their previous 9 League games.

City struggled today and will be happy to have come up with a draw.

Watford had some good chances and could of won.

For the 3rd game in a row Blackburn, Boro and Watford
City struggled.

For me we should of got the 3pts today against a team on a terrible run.

Really glad City have the international break.

Bulut don’t blame tiredness or injuries as every club are in the same position.
Other teams have 5-6 players out and travel, it evens out.

FIRST-HALF: Watford started the better, City held form and bang 26th mon McGuinness scores.

Watford will feel they should have been drawing but City went in 1nil up.

SECOND-HALF: Unbelievable/ shocking: GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Watford (Bayo 54)
Goal! Horror mistake from Alnwick.

57th min: Robinson on for Ralls

70th min: Bowler on for Tanner.

Watford missed a couple of clear chances.

CARDIFF CITY 1 WATFORD 1
H-T 1-0
Crowd 19,804
Away Support 1,550

Cardiff City: Alnwick; Ng, McGuinness, Goutas, Collins; Siopis, Ralls, Wintle; Tanner, Ugbo, Grant.

Subs: Runarssson, Panzo, Romeo, Sawyers, Adams, R. Colwill, Evans, Bowler, Robinson.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Watford (McGuinness 26)
An in-swinger from Ralls and Goutas makes a nuisance of himself. The ball flicks over the top to McGuinness, who volleys home emphatically from close range

H-T 1-0

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Watford (Bayo 54)
Goal! Horror mistake from Alnwick.
McGuinness with an easy backpass to Alnwick, but his touch is horrendous. Bayo rounds him and pokes home easily. The keeper is distraught

Dogshit today but a points a point. As for ugbo I can't see why he's still playing he offers NOTHING at all imo. Lots of shit back passes and slow play today with mistakes galore but things will get better and a points better than nothing as I thought Watford deserved all 3. I'll take a point thank god :bluescarf:

Fed up of witnessing 2nd half collapses.

That was absolutely pathetic.

Half our team out injured.

Most of our squad was on international duty which not everyone have.

Would have lost that last year

I am relieved to get a point. We would have lost that last season. Watford are in very poor form but have a very capable squad and I knew they would be better than mid-week. I think expectation has gone up a bit too much recently. We are not a top six side unless our best 11 are all fit. Injuries to four of our attacking players will affect us. The quality is just not there in the rest of the squad. 17 points after 11 games has been a great start and we are in the top half.

Disappointing result, always looked like a draw after they equalised.

It’s not an excuse, it’s obvious they’re tired. Their energy levels have just dropped off massively. Maybe the same as other teams, but we’ve had half of our first team out injured, that’s had a huge impact.

The break has come at just the right time for batteries to be re-charged, and give players the chance to get back fit.

Let’s all be honest, whether we should be beating Watford or not if we were told 6 games ago we’d be in 8th place going into the international break we’d be happy.

Watford had been on a terrible run and have injuries and club in disarray.

Yes, but the players are absolutely out on their heels.
JC was practically playing on one leg today, Ramsey out for at least 8 weeks, Siopis came in late so hasn’t had time to get match fit, Kion is out for at least 4 weeks, O’Dowda out for 12 weeks, Bowler has been out for 5-6 weeks, Meite is out for 4 weeks.

If you add them all up, that’s 7 players who are either out injured, just coming back from injury or are not fully match fit.

If we can get to January around mid-table Bulut should be able to make the necessary transfers in January to push us towards the play offs.

All clubs have similar problems and it even out over a season.

Not 7 first team players!
Tell us the last time that happened to us? To have 7 first team players injured.
You get a few injured, maybe 3-4 and you can deal with it. But, 7 first team players injured would take a lot out of any team in the world.

I think if everybody is available we have one of the best 11s in the championship. But with injuries, in most positions our replacements are dog shit!

All clubs in same position so no excuse, second half Watford changed there system and we didn't.

Long ball wasn't working, why was our front three pushed up with zero movement.

All we had to do was have our wingers do a give a go with a ball in front, hardly seen that. We should be using out assets of Tanner and Grant better

Don't care about the goalkeeping mistake as it was the embodiment of the lack of any quality from us because we had a team of defensive midfielders and when push came to shove the manager went for another back pass master rather than someone who will hold onto the ball.

No idea what we were trying to do apart from a piss Swansea imitation, pass for pass sake and moving responsibility to your team mate.

Ugbo just isn't good enough, he got lucky with the "tap ins"early doors but i have no idea what his optimum position is, vibes of Ojo to me. CR7 is so far off the pace i would have sub'd him.

Ralls goes off and we lose all shape again, but it doesn't look like he has 90 mins in him. Wintle is a "6" but nowhere near the same level as Siopsis, but he isn't an "8" either, he definitely isn't a "10" especially at home.

The manager needed to be brave but wasn't. A point is a point

Think this was a game where Ramsey would of shown his class. We were so static today, Ralls, Wintle and Sip is safe and steady, but lacks creativity and vision.

We always notice when Ralls comes off, teams just get more chances.

Robinson had a couple subs now done nothing, hoping Colwill or someone else gets a chance.

Really oissed me off their goal but thats the trouble when a GK makes a mistaken it often ends in a goal, but Alnwick been great so he can have one imo.

Like said above, it was our play that lead to the shit situation he got put in.

Colwill has done more in every single sub appearance compared to what Robinson has this season!

I was dreading today after Tuesday , and I was proved right. Very lucky to get a draw , gave the ball away constantly, look very lethargic , desperately need new players January as our subs have not much to give .
Something not right with robbo ?????

Played well when going forwards, rode our luck for a while today too. Sawyers can’t play the ball forward, almost cost us a 2nd with a weak back pass.

Overall been impressed with the shifts they’ve all put in, shame we haven’t got decent strength in the depth of our squad. Tanner looked knackered today and after Ugbo went off we had nothing in attack.

January we need to look at getting a couple of players in the doors, ideally a striker and a LB unless Bulut starts to use Panzo

Hey we are 8th. Would not have expected that after last season of shit. We have done brilliantly when not being able to sign players for money. Keep going City onwards and upwards

I'm fking sick of this Ray Wilkins crab football. Bulut is stubborn or just a limited manager - there was no movement in midfield, they're all too similar. Missing Rambo sadly. Annoys me that he persists with Ugbo who contributes fk all.
We were damn lucky to get a point against a poor, error ridden Watford.
Why the fk do we tw*t about at the back when under pressure? We always fk it up!
For me, jury's out at sea on Bulut until January. No more excuses in injuries - that's a fking cop out.
What's Colwill got to do to get some minutes? He'd have been worth a go up front surely in the last quarter?

We just didn't seem like we actually wanted to win that match - that's inexcusable

I agree, to an extent, that injuries and suspensions even themselves out over a season. However, I can’t remember ever having so many significant injuries concentrated within the first 2 months !!

Today was a disappointing performance as Bullit has said. But performances so far has far exceeded most of our REALISTIC expectations after a transfer window unable to spend money.

For once the international breaks work in our favour and will buy us some time. If we are in the top half of the table after Christmas and then add a couple of strikers (Moore ??) and creative players then things could get interesting as I’ve seen nothing to be afraid of and we’ve played most of the top teams.

So today was a poor performance but we scrambled a point which is better than a loss (which it would have been last season).

We can all see the progress we’ve made under this manager so let’s cut him a bit of slack. Some of those criticising now were saying we would be in a relegation battle!! Well look at the table ………. we’re one point off the playoffs after a very tricky start !!
