The Opposition's Manager

Experienced manager Nigel Pearson has been in charge of Bristol City since February 2021.

He is best known for his two times in charge at Leicester City. In his second spell, he got them promoted to the Premier League and successfully kept them up the following season. He left the club that summer and they then went on to win the Premier League.

He also had periods in charge of Carlisle, Southampton, Hull, Derby and Watford.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Andreas Weimann is a long serving player with them and had 11 goal involvements last season.

Sam Bell has four league goals this season.

Head To Head

We have won just two of our last five games against Bristol City, the last being at CCS in the Championship last season in March this year.

Before that, they had beaten us three times in a row.

The only time we get a decent crowd is when there are 2000 away fans

We are 6th

We should have 26000 for this game

But I doubt we will

It’s a shame both ramsey and odowda would’ve been right up for this one.
Confident we still have the players to beat anyone in this league though.

Nigel Pearson gives mixed Bristol City injury update as striker to miss Cardiff City clash
Bristol City will have to make do without some key players once more against Cardiff City

Nigel Pearson has ruled Nahki Wells out of a return to the Bristol City squad against Cardiff City on Saturday, and provided mixed updates on Andy King and Zak Vyner’s availability.

The manager said on Monday that he was ‘optimistic’ that the Bermudan could play some part in the Severnside derby, but confirmed in his pre-Bluebirds press conference that the match will come too soon for Wells.

Another player that City will have to make do without is veteran King. The 34-year-old was forced off after the hour mark in Wednesday’s defeat to Ipswich Town, and Pearson revealed the latest on the midfielder.

The manager admitted that Haydon Roberts may also miss the Bluebirds clash after he too suffered a knock in midweek, which leaves the Robins worryingly short on numbers at the back.

We should win this looking at their injury list. We need to start on the front foot, If their defence is depleted through injury. Looking forward to it

Sloper Road | Temporary road closure -

Supporters should be aware that Sloper Road will be temporarily closed for approximately 20 minutes after the full-time whistle.

This measure will come into force 15 minutes before the end of the match.

Cardiff City fans will be unable to travel along Sloper Road in the direction of Penarth Road during this period.

Bristol City fans must turn right only upon exiting Cardiff City Stadium, towards Penarth Road, the City Centre parking areas and Cardiff Central train station. Away supporters will not be able to travel along Sloper Road in the direction of Leckwith Road during this period.

The decision to limit movement post-match was taken by South Wales Police in the interest of public safety. Every effort will be made to keep to the above timescale, but supporters should be aware that these timings are not fixed, and will be determined by South Wales Police.

All supporters will be able to walk down Sloper Road from the Grangetown area ahead of the match.

Lee Tomlin returns to CCS!

Ahead of kick-off on Saturday, we'll be joined by former City playmaker, Lee Tomlin!

Lee will be speaking to supporters in the Grandstand before joining us on the Legends Stage in the Ninian Stand.

Just before kick-off, Lee will be introduced to the CCS crowd!

He might need 1 of the stewards to show him where the pitch is ;)

They've got 10 injuries and only 1 fit CB. 5 or 6 of their subs will be academy players and 4 of those have never played even a minute for the 1st team. But it's a derby...

Strange choice of a player to bring back. Can only think it's because of his Bristol City connection - but we've had plenty of other ex-Bristol City players!

Can't imagine he'll get a huge reception.

20 minutes gone and a cagey encounter so far with both sides having half chances. The Blubirds best chance coming from a free-kick from Perry Ng, who found the target but also the keeper...

The Bluebirds defence look a little stretched at times and it's encouraging the Robins and their imoressive away support...

In front of us, it looked like their keeper pulled the ball back into his box but the referee said not...

Hmmm.

The Bluebirds exerting pressure and a good run from Collins into the Bristol box saw the ball pushed through for a goal kick...

Better frim the Bluebirds and Bristol looking a tad stretched and tired... :ayatollah:

Bit of a shit game but arkwast we are winning at half time. Too slow and no movement really

Deserve the lead but we need to move the ball quicker in the final third and stop conceding possession cheaply at times. The game definitely not won yet.

Bristol player puts his shoulder into ours, yet it's a free-kick to them...?! :?

Bluebirds having the better of the game now and another goal to our to tally...

Goid stuff from the Bluebirds now and only interrupted by some pretty inept refereeing at timez but we are controlling the game and them thar Wurzels look rattled...

Then a decent run from their man Verah sees him run into the Bluebird box and do a 5.9 which thankfully didn't cin the referee, so suddenly he's not such a banker...
