Bet365 Stadium

Stoke have played their home games at what is now called the Bet365 Stadium since 1997.

It is called that name because the Coates family who own Stoke, also own Bet365.

The stadium has a capacity of just over 30,000.

It has also hosted National League play-off finals and England youth games.

The Opposition's Manager

Alex Neil was appointed Stoke manager in August last year.

He is probably best known from his time at Norwich, when he got them promoted to the Premier League.

He also got Sunderland promoted to the Championship before taking the Stoke job.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Sead Haksabanovic, Mehdi Leris and Dwight Gayle will likely be their attacking threat.

Leris scored at the weekend.

Head To Head

We are unbeaten in our last five games against Stoke.

But four of those games have been a draw, with our last win coming in a Championship fixture at CCS in March 2022.

Last Game

Stoke won 2-0 away at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

On the same day, we beat Bristol City 2-0.

The Potters will go in search of a fourth successive Championship victory when they return to home soil on Saturday for the visit of Cardiff City.

Alex Neil’s side, fresh off a first win at Middlesbrough in over two decades, will intend to repeat recent successes in ST4 against Sunderland and Leeds United when the Bluebirds travel up from South Wales.

The visitors make the trip to Staffordshire on the back of their Severnside derby victory against Bristol City, which saw Erol Bulut’s side climb to fifth in the Championship table.

Stoke City are hopeful that Ryan Mmaee will be in contention to return to the squad for this weekend's match against Cardiff.

The 25-year-old centre-forward made a welcome return to the front line last week after a month-and-a-half out with a hamstring injury but, after helping secure wins over Sunderland and Leeds United, he was left out of the weekend's win at Middlesbrough, when Dwight Gayle came in to help seal a 2-0 victory. Wouter Burger also dropped to the bench at the Riverside and Ben Pearson came off before half-time, replaced by Jordan Thompson.

“It's not a serious one (for Mmaee)," Alex Neil told StokeonTrentLive. "He's got a bit of a nick and I’m hopeful he should be ready for Saturday. Wouter had just run his race really, he was done; Ben Pearson you could see had run his race, he was done; Mehdi Leris needed to come off, he was knackered. They’ve put an incredible amount of effort in this week.”

Thompson, however, will serve a one-match ban after becoming the 14th player in the Championship to collect five yellow cards - although no one else has reached that unwanted landmark in as few minutes (498) as the Northern Ireland international. Pearson, with seven bookings, is still joint-top of the division's naughty list alongside Leicester defender Jannik Vestergaard.

Stoke City defender Michael Rose believes the key to the Potters building on the momentum they have generated in the past week will be remaining level-headed in their approach to training and matches.

The 28-year-old has featured in each of City’s trio of victories to close out October, contributing to consecutive clean sheets against Leeds United and Middlesbrough, whilst also notching his first Potters goal in Teesside.

Speaking ahead of Cardiff City’s visit to the bet365 Stadium this weekend, Rose says experience tells him a consistent approach will reap rewards in the second tier.

“The way the gaffer is, he wants to go and win every single game, it won’t be any different this weekend,” Rose explained.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game and Cardiff are doing well this season, but we are at home, and we want to win our home games.

“It’s another opportunity for us and if we can win the next two ahead of the next break, then brilliant, but I know what this league is like.

“Anyone can beat anyone so, when things are going well, you just need to stay level-headed, the same goes for when things aren’t going so well, that’s the best approach you can have.

He added: “Momentum is huge in the Championship, I know that from my time at Coventry.

“It stems from performances, if we keep doing what we have been, putting in the application we have then we know we have boys in the squad who can hurt teams.”

Etete to return for Stoke City clash -

Bulut also confirmed Kion Etete will return to the fold for this weekend's trip to Stoke City.

The forward has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury, but it now looks as though he will be back for the trip to the Potteries this weekend to add competition up front. Bulut said: "Yakou (Meite), he's back now, Kion Etete is back. Only Aaron Ramsey and Callum O’Dowda are still preparing (to get back)."

The Cardiff boss said Ramsey and O'Dowda are "not at the level" to be available for Wales and Republic of Ireland duty respectively when the next batch of international matches roll around in a couple of weeks. However, he was positive regarding Ramsey's progress.

"I think as fans, they can be involved and watch the games - I don't think they can play," he added. "I would hope they could play, but they are not at the level right now. They still need a little bit more time.

"With Aaron, it looks like he will be back earlier than how we were expecting. O'Dowda will need more time, but right now they are both doing well."

Early wide free-kick for Cardiff, seemed to be caught in the wind a bit as ralls sent in a cross and Stoke dealt with it.

Good noise from both ends. Stoke looking for a fourth win in a row, Cardiff a third

Karlan Grant sticks his leg in between Ki-Jana Hoever as Stoke find space down their right - but the free-kick goes Cardiff's way.

I'm afraid it's Oliver Langford as referee today so brace yourself, anything could happen.

Another sweeping pass from left to right for Stoke, this time Rose to Hoever, who controls brilliantly with a one-touch pass to Leris - but Goutas is over to sweep up.
