MY VIEW: TODAY FOR ME BULUT WILL HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR NO LESS THAN 3PTS AND BULUT WAS ABLE TO FIELD A VERY STRONG TEAM:

City looked 2nd best for long periods and totally shy in front of goal, but pulled the game back and beat Sheffield Wednesday in the last couple of minutes.

The City faithful deserved this win.

Dire, but a Win is what was desperately needed.

WE SO DESPERATELY NEEDED THIS WIN / YES YES YES




Wednesday remain second from bottom and six points adrift of safety.



Bulut today took his Bluebirds to one of the weakest sides in the Championship but Cardiff had just lost four of its last five league matches.





These are the games you have to win if you want to stay at least in the top-half of the Championship.









FIRST-HALF: OVER ALL ONCE AGAIN AWFUL BY CITY:
20 mins gone and no real chances for either side, no real threats.
28mins: City’s defence was torn apart by Musaba! Great ball through from Johnson and Musaba did well to lose his marker in the box and fire home into the Leppings Lane net! 1-0

After 40mins not a shot on goal by City.

Since Wednesday scored they’ve dominated


SECOND-HALF: City started awful.
55mins Double Sub: Siopis off for Wintle.

Robinson off for Tanner.

Wednesday were dominating.

65th min: Etete on for Bowler.

Against the run of play and City had not had a shot on target.

74th min: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Cardiff City (Grant 74)
Grant made a clever run and Ng found him in the half space just outside the area. He hits a low shot across goal and it takes a slight deflection before nestling into the bottom corner.


88th min: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Cardiff City (Etete 88)
Tanner moved the ball on to his left foot before smashing a low shot on goal. It was a good strike but deflected, which puts Dawson off-kilter and he fumbles his save. Credit to Etete, who follows up quickly and rams it into the back of the net under pressure. 2-1 City!

Two points: Alnwick brilliant. Big positive he is between the posts.
At least we battled hard upfront after Robinson left the fray.
We are not world eaters but what a difference in the last 30 mins when we battled

Yes he made some great saves , thank god he’s in goal

2nd best and dreadful for most that game Vs a team right at the bottom end yet we won the last 20 minutes due to changes and our shape so I'm buzzing

Not a great performance but all that matters is the three points.

Agree, Alnwick definitely MOTM.

Doesn’t matter how it happened. We needed that, just to stop the rot.

To add to this, whoever said Bulut is tactically inept he put Grant through the middle, and it changed everything!

Hopefully that will kick start things now!

I'm thinking of those late goals of late against Sunderland, Preston, Millwall and now Wednesday. They could be vital to our survival.

Looking V light in the middle but that’ll be sorted in a couple of weeks.

Second half of the season could be interesting.

We were awful but we got a lucky deflection for our first goal & kept going after that. No surprise that Ralls was back & we win but Alnwick made a couple of great saves to keep us in the game.

Another 17 points would see City just about safe in the Championship- for me that's the real target this season.

Alnwick and Grant both excellent.
I have to comment on Etete, when came on he battled for every ball unlike Miete. Sorry to say Robinson does not bring anything to the team.

I think Robo will be moved on. Someone like Preston will gamble on him I’d guess.

854 Cardiff City Fans

Played poorly but winning becomes a habit. 3 points off top 6 with transfer window to come. Take this over last season.

Even when we were 2-1 up, they had 2 penalty shouts and we were battered but survived. Let’s be honest that performance we will lose much more than win.

We cannot keep playing the way we have been and expect results.

Plymouth are a good side and we will need to get out of the traps early to get a result. Time for Grant to play down the middle… Robinson IMO needs to be moved on. We could get a few quid for him and use the money to bring in a tidy midfielder.

At the start of the season we were unlucky against Leeds, Leicester and Ipswich. There have been other games since where we haven’t got what we deserved.

Today and, possibly, Preston away we got away with scraping the points.

It all evens itself out, but after a poor run and poor performances that win was welcome.

A few points from the next 3 games (3 or 4 would probably do) and then let’s see what the transfer window brings us.

Yesterday and Preston away decisions went our way even though we played not good at all, we picked up 6pts , as I have always said luck evens out over the season.

For me 9 games we have not played good at all.

We have scraped a few results and got away with it.

We need to up our game and hopefully confidence will return after yesterday and we are very lucky we have not had loads of injuries.
