MY VIEW: TODAY CARDIFF STRUGGLED BUT GOT THEMSELVES A HOME DRAW IN WHAT WAS QUITE AN ENTERTAINING GAME.

A mad own goal by Plymouth got Cardiff back in the game.

Not a bad game, but fair play Plymouth took the game to Cardiff and could of easily won this game.

For me 2pts dropped by Cardiff.

There were some boos from Cardiff fans at the final whistle.

NOW ONLY 2 WINS FOR CARDIFF IN THEIR LAST 10 GAMES / BUT THANKFULLY DUE TO HALF THE CHAMPIONSHIP SO CLOSE / CARDIFF ARE JUST 2PTS FROM THE PLAY-OFFS.

PLYMOUTH without an away win this season (11 games ).

These are the games you have to win if you want to stay at least in the top-half of the Championship.

Not a dull game, Grant looks like he is hitting form.

The last 15mins end to end and in the last mins Cardiff could of won the game.

FIRST-HALF

18th min GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 Plymouth Argyle (Whittaker 18)
Ben Waine hit a driven cross across the face of goal and Morgan Whittaker gets on the end of it at the far post.

Then 5mins later it was Almost two! A fantastic ball over the top of Collins and Kesler-Hayden latches on to the end of it. Alnwick had committed and Kesler-Hayden lobs him - but it's wide of the post!

Some big luck 31st min: Own goal by Plymouth
Cardiff City 1-1 Plymouth Argyle (Butcher )
Oh what a disaster! He passed it back to the 'keeper but gets it all wrong. Hazard runs straight past it and Butcher passes it into his own net! Calamity.

Cardiff lucky they were drawing to an own goal / over all quite an entertaining half.

SECOND-HALF:
47th min: GOAL! Cardiff City 2-1 Plymouth Argyle (Grant )

A cross was deflected across the Plymouth 18-yard box and Grant lines one up and cracks it into the top corner with unstoppable pace. Wow. What a hit.

63rd min: Etete off, Tanner off.

Colwill off, Bowler on.

63rd min:Plymouth subs...

Miller off, Mumba on. Wright off, Azaz on. Randell off, Cundle on.

Then bang 2-2

63rd min:GOAL! Cardiff City 2-2 Plymouth Argyle (Whittaker )

What a goal from the wide man. Plays a great one-two before hammering a low shot, which Alnwick does incredibly well to save, but he then follows up and hammers it in from close range.

68th min: Sub: Siopis on for Ralls

76th min Robinson on for Meite

End to end right up to the final whistle.

Attendance 23,983 includes 2,690 Plymouth fans

We never win on boxing day but will take a point. Good game for a change. What a strike from Grant. We need reinforcements. A fit Ramsey and O'Dowda would have helped today hugely.

Morgan Whittaker scored two goals to give managerless Plymouth Argyle just their fifth away point of the season, as they played out an entertaining draw at Championship play-off contenders Cardiff City.

Former Swansea City forward Whittaker tapped in from close range to put the visitors in front, before a comical own goal by Matt Butcher - whose backpass rolled in from 20 yards - brought Cardiff level.

Personally, I think Bulut cost us that game with his dreadful and needless substitutions in the 64th minute.

Etete and Colwill were causing all sorts of problems and they were taken off for Bowler and Tanner who, to say the least, have no confidence at all at the moment. It was no surprise that Plymouth equalised a few minutes later. We were a shambles after that and were lucky not to concede another later on. Then to bring on Robinson for Meite was the last straw, and I am beginning to have grave doubts about Bulut and his tactical nous. We looked much better in midfield today I thought with Wintle and Ralls having excellent games. We now have a tough one on Friday, and I am not optimistic about the team that Bulut will put out.

Well said. Bulut needs to take a huge amount of blame for not winning this game but he'll blame the players as usual and the majority on here will stick up for him.

Agree, I don’t understand why he made those changes. I thought Colwill was having his best game. I really have my doubts about Tanner, apart from the Swansea game he’s really struggled. This is not the first time Bulut has made strange decisions when we have been on top. I guess a draw is better than losing though.

Yeah hopefully Tan will put his hands in his pockets and gets Steve Cooper in.

Colwill sub baffled me. Meite up front instead of Etete who was awful and Bowler should have been the change.

Bulut messed up today by making the changes he did. We were on top and pushing for a third goal and he changed it. We need a 5/6 players, full back, 2/3 in midfield, striker and a wide player with pace who can beat a man. Bowler should be sent back, Etete is not good enough and we have no one else. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Aside from the Cardiff connection Steve Cooper is never coming here and will take another job in the premier league or a national team at some point. Bulut is not perfect but wanting yet another manager change is ridiculous. Back Bulut across two windows and build a team for the future.

Looked to be controlling the game and wrong substitutes.
Think we would have held on.
Not playing well atm but happy with 4 points over Xmas.
Moore and Ramsay will make a difference in the new year :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I thought we did ok and it was a good game
Agree the subs were quite puzzling though
Ralls played well although did look knackered
Colwill coming off was a very strange decision

I thought we were lucky to draw. Plymouth were a better side, had the better chances and looked hungrier and sharper. Took a crazy own goal to give us a point. Fair play to Grant great strike but our open play was again so slow, mostly sideways and backwards. Couldn't work out style of play again.

Wrong selection in my eyes leaving Siopis on the bench. We backed ourselves into corners all game when slowing the game down, we’re stronger when we play quick football. Found again the players are not talking to each other, nobody making runs and wrong choice in subs, I don’t understand why Ralls was taken off when he was so influential in midfield…

The lack of pressing on the keeper/defenders is shocking. Sitting off the way we did we invite teams to attack, 2 passes and a run down the wing resulting in a shot on goal just before half time.

The amount of runs Grant made and JC stopped and turned back inside was beyond…. It’s like they’re afraid to do anything to progress quickly.

Linesman on The Grandstand side missed a few calls but what’s new and so did the ref.

Roll on Friday, hope we can shut up shop and keep damage to a minimum. Not very optimistic
About getting anything from Leicester with the form they’re in.

Watching how Plymouth played I don’t understand how they’re in the position they are, they’ve got pace on the wings and need to exploit that, JC was left on several occasions and their No.10 had already shown his threat and intent minutes before his goal with his offside shot

Bowler was excellent when he came on, with Colwill tiring. Biggest problem today was lack of movement forward again, and giving the ball away easily. Bulut can’t do much about that.

I thought at the point Colwill was subbed he was starting to look unplayable, very strange decision if not injured.Right decision to drop Siopis from starting.Moore and them two from Turkey will make a huge difference in January.NG didn’t look himself today.

Bulut in his post match press conference explained that he wanted to leave Colwill and Etete on for another 15 minutes but it was on the physio's advice to sub them to avoid risk of injury. I guess that puts a different spin on things. Why do modern footballers struggle to last 90 minutes anymore?

Yeah I guess rubin's game time is being determined by physio's rather than bulut with his recent growing pains and injuries, but you'd think a young lad could last the full 90

A game we should have won but could have lost. It was nice to see an away team trying to win the game for once, instead of holding on for a draw.

I’m pretty sure we would have lost that game last season. We are definitely better than last year and not far off getting top 6 with the right players in January.
